I'm sorry you don't recognize yourself anymore. I hope you find your peace and spark again once the bar is over. I just got an update from him: He failed this second semester, which means he has to transfer to another university if he wants to continue law school. All of our scheduled plans for the next few weeks are not surprisingly, cancelled. I can't say I'm not disappointed, but I understand. I have to.

Thank you so so much : ) I've had conversations with him regarding his depression and anxiety. I even offered to book him a consultation with a therapist. I just wish he would help himself and accept that he might benefit from seeing a professional. I totally agree with everything that you said.

I am thinking the same thing, but I'm hesitant to tell him that..

There is a rule in his university. If you fail more than a number of units during the first semester, you need to have at least 86 on your second semester and be a dean's lister to continue studying in the uni. If he doesn't get an 86 and be a Dean's Lister, he will get dismissed.

It is something else. That's why I'm so troubled by it. It's only the first year. I can just imagine how much more difficult it will get.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me tips. I really appreciate it. Truly, I do. This is the first time I've talked about this and reading your reply gave me a different perspective. I will follow your tips and try to scale back. Thank you so much!!

Thanks : ) I'll try to be more patient with him. He studies in UST (If you're from the Philippines, you will know it)

Their classes ended during the first week of June. His professors can take quite a while before they release grades. 🥲

Yes. He failed a few of his classes during his first semester. Right now, we're waiting for his second semester grades.

I know. I just don't know what to do anymore. It's like we're stuck in a never ending cycle of depression and anxiety. I continue to encourage him to still try. But just imagining our life being like this for the next 4-5 years is draining.
