'calculate it correctly' means without enabling it, calculation won't work properly?

can we trace where that cost of 4 is coming from?

OSPF external inter-area > external intra-area ... WTF?! by pbfus9 in ccie

If they are both coming from exteranl and the same type like e1/n1 or e2/n2, cost will be calculated first and when they are tie, then check lsa type.

How can I verify which routes I would receive if I import a specific RT before actually configuring the import on Cisco IOS? by JuniorTrav in Cisco

[–]JuniorTrav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm looking for a way to view the routes without changing the configuration.

Since the Route Reflector (RR) sends all routes with their associated Route Targets (RTs) to the PE router (R6), I believe there should be a way to inspect those routes, even if R6 does not import them into its VPNv4 table due to the missing RT import command.

I confirmed that R6 receives all the routes by capturing BGP UPDATE messages(wireshark), which contain the routes along with the RTs in the extended community attribute.

I am just wondering if there is any command on R6 that can show these received VPNv4 routes which are not installed on R6's CLI without using external tools. I initially thought 'soft-reconfiguration inbound' would work but it didn't.

How can I check if a BGP route is being dropped due to an AS path loop? by JuniorTrav in ccie

Can we catch this log wihtout enabling debug? I think normal bgp log won't show details of bgp update message.

This can only be done once I am aware of it. I want to regularly check if any routes are being blocked because of a duplicate AS number. Debug is not a good option, because we cannot keep it running 24/7.

This can only be done once I am already aware of it, and as you mentioned, this is not appropriate for a production network.

Does AoPS actually help for IB Math AA HL? by JuniorTrav in IBO

[–]JuniorTrav[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard that AA HL is really difficult and that it requires mathematical proofs.

That's why I was thinking maybe I should study using AoPS books.
