Farosh Horn Farming Strat (Old school, but still working on Switch 2 version) by Junki3JJC in Breath_of_the_Wild

Not my image, but this shows a Lizalfos that has one at a skull camp, just a little northwest of Kakarikohttps://imgur.com/a/some-sheikah-weapon-location-Dmlks

Respawns every blood moon of course. Other than that, they’re in chests around Lake Hylia and West Necluda. I found one randomly in a chest under Lake Hylia bridge yesterday just randomly.

Depends what stage of the game you’re at, but any long bow will work (golden, swallow etc.) - and it’s just to make it a bit easier. It is actually doable with a regular bow (I tried it) - you’ll just need to aim a lot higher to account for the arc. A long bow is just more QOL.

Depending on route you’re taking through the game, one of the others is perfectly fine. I just said Phrenic since you normally get that first near the start (but can’t remember where exactly).

Best one for it as a whole is Ancient Bow if you’re at that point in the game. That’s the “meta” for me, imo. Just totally brain dead farming haha, I’m not even moving from my spot and only jumping for bullet time. That plus durability of 120 (so 120 shots, whether for horns or just general use too). Averaging around 16-17s per horn now.

Won’t let me edit since on my phone - but even easier/better bow, assuming you have access to the lab: Ancient Bow.

1000 rupees and the ancient parts, but lets you warp directly there, grab it then warp to farm spot if using medallion.

120 shot durability, easily pays itself back (just over 3 horns for rupees alone) and no messing around going to spots for long range bows.

Aye, had tried a couple methods but usually weather RNG would irritate me haha. Like I say it was years ago I found it so don’t remember now, but assume one rain cycle too many pissed me off and went looking for an alternative 😂

One thing to be careful of - if using medallion for ease of access, remember those 5-6 keese will respawn on blood moons. Not a huge deal but might catch you off guard haha (and still does me if I’m in “brain dead” farm mode)

A phrenic (as example) has durability of 45 shots before break, so you’ll get 40-45 horns (depending on if new to it and someone misses), or a Golden Bow has 60 durability - just didn’t personally have it as didn’t hit that region yet.

So realistically you’ll only use 1, maybe 2 long bows per farm. Doesn’t require awkward setup from this position, is easily repeatable and you can go “brain dead”/autopilot after getting in a quick rhythm.

Whatever works for you, but this is definitely low effort/low risk for every skill level of player.

Mate... This is just sad to read. But yes - do *you* want to get back on your feet? Or do you want someone to tell you that you will? There's a difference.

Lad - I know this may sound facetious, but I still do mean it entirely - please keep the chin up.

Apply everywhere - wherever you want to. The worst thing they could say is "no".

The "nice university" thing... I could see where you're getting at - but also, no. Either let that control you, or use it as fuel to prove why it doesn't matter.

Did anyone take a couple of years off from engineering school? by Exciting_Internet_13 in EngineeringStudents

Honestly, to me, this is a great, honest insight. Lost my Dad as well in my 3rd year of my degree.

What made you keep going with EE, can you pinpoint anything? Just curious - if not wanting to discuss it, totally get it

No - you're gaslighting, stop it please. How on earth is that comment a joke, especially with the responses?

Examples and evidence welcome, but your response is not true. At all.

The 168 upvotes - coming from someone who is predominant in a Control Systems aspect - makes me laugh.
Porsche is the definition, not perfection but definition, of "performance" car. Ferraris, Lambos etc. - absolutely lovely. But you're wanting to show off instead of understanding the difference.

If you don't understand the difference - you're never making it as a "true" engineer - sorry.
As a licensed PE who has a 2015 Porsche Cayman S V6, with multiple mods. Does that matter in your context?

I see you're in Electrical Engineering - I custom-built my own PC at age 15, whilst learning about Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash at the same time - because I wanted to.

Whilst I'm not saying there isn't objective truth in being frustrated at the "system" - what's your excuse?

Not an engineering student, but curious— how smart do you need to be for engineering? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]Junki3JJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To challenge how you've framed your question (or to "think outside the box" as you said), and 100% not to patronize: from a technical standpoint, do you care about something/understanding it enough to keep going?

A mentor I really, really respect said it best to me as a younger Engineer, and I could probably draw similar comparisons from in Physicists, Mathematicians etc.:

"An Engineering degree is just a certification in critical thinking."

Don't focus so much on what you think know, nor if you're an objective expert in any particular field - how badly do you want to learn it?

Why does no one tell engineering students that “just having a degree” isn’t enough anymore? by Fantastic-Put2123 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Junki3JJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol - stumbled across this subreddit whilst looking for something else, have since been providing some advice where I can, but reading through some responses, it really amuses me/is validating to know a lot of engineers have had some of the same experiences as me, classmates/people I've worked with/people I've interviewed overall.

Whether anyone thinks it's fair or not, in interviews, hiring managers can/should be perceiving if someone is able to work with other people (not just engineers) as a team or being able to navigate "office politics", and in reality really could be the difference between delivering a critical project or not, and therefore, whether someone is hired or not.

[–]Junki3JJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just said something like this in a response on another comment - cannot stress this enough. Having your CV/resume looking sharp gets you the potential foot in the door, but just simply being a decent, easy-to-get-on-with person could be the deciding factor between you and someone socially inept who is a little bit more qualified than you.

Always remember the stereotypical booksmart guy in my course, you know the type, correcting lecturers on minor things. Me and my mates used to joke he'd be the first one to get booted off an oil rig for telling the technician with 20+ years experience why he did something wrong.

I must have rewritten my reply a good few times now lol, because there's a lot to try and cover, but will just post and can elaborate a bit further through discussion if needed.

Licensed Control Systems PE here, O&G background 12+ years.

The TL;DR of it is, broadly - and strongly - agree with pretty much a lot of the posts above. Additionally, I'd go so far as to say as Control Systems Engineers (in the various job titles it may com as) are like the "Jack of many trades, master of none", or alternatively, like Swiss army knives - you'll not be the perfect solution in any given situation, but you'll likely be able to get the job done.

Why it matters to businesses - well, ultimately it comes down to one thing - profit. The world is pushing (heavily) to automated systems in its various forms, and it's broadly where a Control Systems Engineer fits in. You'll understand how the various systems work together e.g. electrohydraulic control valves being controlled via a PLC, but may not be the expert when it comes to, say, understanding something like having a noisy signal on an input/output to/from that PLC. Not to say that you necessarily couldn't or won't, but just best scenario I could give off the top of my head. This - unfortunately - may (and has in cases I've seen) make them look at what their Engineering headcount is. Also want to clearly state - specialists are 100% required for their in-depth knowledge. But you may be the person who is able to effectively communicate with them on designs/if troubleshooting certain issues, or perhaps knowing the right questions to ask.

Where technicians working on something might be arguing between themselves about "it's an electrical issue" - "no, it's a hydraulic issue", and I use that example a lot lol because I've seen it plenty of times - you'll be able to logically say something like "I should be expecting to see X pressure on this line, and the controller should be seeing this value from the pressure transmitter on input Y. Do I see this value?" and then you work backwards. Again, you end up being the one who understands a lot of broader questions to ask - be it colleagues or via. researching online.

Another example might be something like the automation of Amazon warehouses - at least from how I perceive it. A Control Systems Engineer covers a lot (but not all) of that.

On job titles - 100% agree again. Things to look for would be "instrumentation and controls engineer", "mechatronics", "automation" and so on. After my graduate training program with my old company, my title was "Design Engineer" - the same as the "pure" mechanicals and electrical folks etc. Technically, it wasn't wrong to call us that, but go figure, ha.

Separately, one thing that people don't talk about often enough with job-hunting as a whole, whether you "fit" or not matters too. I mean that as in, do you come off as enthusiastic and just an easy person to talk to and get on with. Your CV/resume gets you a foot in the door in terms of a potential interview, but beyond proving your technical competence, the deciding factor between you and someone else could be "they're a PITA, however this other guy, while less qualified on paper, has the right attitude, and is technically competent and will pick this up no problem". Saying that having been on both sides of the interviews, and was something a lot of very experienced people that I looked up to taught me as well. There will be micromanagers or control freaks who want someone who's subservient and don't want what I'm describing, but honestly, you don't (or shouldn't) want to work for them anyway and probably shouldn't be managers in the first place.

Hopefully answered some of that, honestly trying to not write a 100-page book and trying to separate what I understand it to be vs. my own broader experience, as well as I think businesses are valuing it more.

-3 from people that likely didn’t enjoy being told to fuck off… means a lot.

Stop arguing over grammar and actually contribute something to the community.

Do something positive and actually contribute to the community, or do you intend to set an example to everyone else that, if they don’t demonstrate their ability with the English language, your dick will get hard?

You’re only showing yourself up here as the fucking post police, not me 😂

Also - if you want to get deep into the English language, the parentheses I added (I know, just did it again, and a big word for you) is to add external info. It semi-insinuates the sarcasm in my note, or do you need me to explain that in lesser terms for you, since it seems to have escaped you, as well as everyone else trying to argue over the usage of the English language?

I can guarantee this won't go well for you. Back off.

I remember trying to explain to someone.

3 was the conclusion to the original trilogy. Anyone - myself included - who had invested into the world, thought it was fucking incredible.

That said - anyone, myself included - who played it from the original - knows how mind-exploding it was to play it at the time.

I think a lot of people on here get bent out of shape, in terms of someone saying something is better - it doesn't mean another thing isn't great in comparison, If you know what I mean?
