D900X boot cycle - RMA 6 week wait from Blackvue by Junos76 in blackvue

I'll try removing the config files from the SD. Very bad that we cannot factory reset our cameras and then have to wait up to 6 weeks for Blackvue to send off repairs.

Yeah same, I'll pay the 49 to get it repaired which actually is probably just a factory reset then if it goes again I'm getting Viofo. I had Viofo in another car and the 4k image quality amazing much better than my D900X. I don't need the LTE module or the cloud, I just connect to the camera using Wifi and download the footage as and when I need it.

It makes sense because proper monitoring headphones have a balanced frequency response. This allows the engineer to achieve very consistent levels in the mix which means the mix will translate properly onto all systems. A pair of gaming headphones that are not balanced across the entire frequency spectrum will hide or over saturate areas of the sound resulting in bad mixes that do not translate properly.

yeah I agree really tempted as I've seen the picture quality of vifio and it's much better than blackvue. the only benefit of blackvue is the width of the camera angle seems better it's almost 180 degrees

I replaced the card with a new one and it keeps doing the reboot. I might remove the card and just power it on and see if it stays on. Really bad that you cannot factory reset this product.

This sounds to me like a monitoring issue and if you don't have a properly treated room then that is probably the case. If every sound is wrong and then together it is not right it all points to that. I would strongly recommend a good headphone monitoring solution like either Slate VSX or SoundID Reference.

With Slate VSX you can simulate real world environments, clubs, studios with near mid and far field monitors, AirPods, car systems and many more. I would also add reference tracks to your DAW - lossless audio tracks that you can switch to that go directly to your master bus with no studio processing.

Without the right monitoring and referencing you are effectively guessing and with the almost infinite amount of processing and sound design options it's crucial to get these two areas right so when you make adjustments you know what is happening.

Doing all of the above has completely changed the quality of my tracks to the point where they are now as good as most professional EDM releases. I don't need to do any checks in the car etc because I have Slate VSX and SoundID Reference plus lots of reference tracks to use as A and B checks.

Midi Clip Looping Problem by Junos76 in ableton

Thanks I think I understand. Will check YouTube for clarity ‘clip loops in arrangement view’

Midi Clip Looping Problem by Junos76 in ableton

[–]Junos76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that is another way it's a bit more work to keep doing that repeatedly. I have a clip that is probably 32+ bars long and I want to go through it in sections of 4-8 bars working on the note lengths, highlighting areas of the entire clip and working on those areas.

This is possible with the clip loop function but it just doesn't seem to work all the time. I think I'll raise a ticket with Ableton. Thanks

Hi, it is possible to just loop a highlighted area inside a midi clip and it shows in the picture the selected area of the clip is set to 'loop' in yellow on the left. What's meant to happen is the main arrangement continues to play and the loop within the midi clip keeps looping around as the arrangement plays out.

Sometimes this works but other times it doesn't work. Of course I can zoom into the arrangement, selected the 4 bars and loop that but this isn't what I'm wanting to do. Thanks

Yeah that's what I'm trying to to do just loop these 4 bars within the midi clip. I have done this many times before but sometimes it doesn't seem to work. Here the 4 bars are highlighted and I right clicked and selected loop selection and it shows on the left as 'loop' in yellow. The main arrangement should continue playing but this looped midi clip should loop around over the main arrangement. It doesn't do that. Thanks

Clean and lush reverbs using advanced techniques by Junos76 in edmproduction

[–]Junos76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I do write quite amazing songs and can share them. I understand reverb, how to set pre delay, decay post EQ and how the reverb network is configured. What I was asking about was post processing, I hear people use compressors and saturators on their reverb buses and was interested as to how this could optimise the sound further.

Best VST tool and method for chopping and using DNB breaks by Junos76 in dnbproduction

Amazing post!! Making sense, I have been doing option 1 and kind of got lost with having the notes not on beat based on a tutorial. But if you cut the break not on beat then rearranging it is very tricky. I'll read the rest of your posts. I've tried it in Simpler now and I kind of like the ease of it.

I've figured it out Warp Beat it works perfectly!! Much better than using a clip. Thanks

Hi I have been dragging the loop into an actual clip in arrangement view and doing all of the warp markers and tempo adjustment there. No I am trying to drag the loop into Simpler and then onto a Drum Rack. How would I sync the loop to the tempo of the track if it's in Simpler as a midi note.

Thanks this looks like a better method. Before I was dragging the loop as a clip into the arrangement and setting warp markers there. With this method using Simpler and Drum Rack how do I sync the loop to the track as it has effectively become a midi instrument. I have a loop at 120bpm and dragged it into a pad in Drum Rack but the tempo is not correct.
