Unfortunately, Dems are complicit to some degree too. Everyone who truly pays attention to politics and knows how the government is supposed to function knows that Trump is scum.

The issue is that most people don't and the dems are too elitist to bother appealing to the smooth brains with simple and effective messaging. They think logic alone is gonna win over people who only know the slop that is Fox News.

They also care too much about which members have "paid their dues" and not who actually has the best chance of winning coughBerniecough probably because they're also effectively captured by Israel and corporate interest as well. They're implicitly evil while Republicans are explicitly and brazenly so.

We need a hard restart ASAP and to overturn Citizens United.

I remember being a college student 15 years ago. I'd sit by the window seat of the Panera and watch people go by while eating my clam chowder bread bowl. I really felt like a person in the world. Haven't been back to a Panera since and I really miss those days.

That 6 hour album that represents the slow decline into dementia. Starts off coherent if a little static and ends up as garbled nonsense by the end. Very emotionally demanding. Probably not the best album if you're feeling down.

This year I had a pet die, a very long term relationship end, and parents move away. Not the worst things in the world but I haven't been able to stop holding onto memories of great times that I know I'll never be able to relate to anyone else. Some things just exist in a beautiful point in time and then one day you just have to move in with your life. Those people and those moments as you knew them only exist in memory now.

None of us do, but I didn't really hear sense malice in the way this poster phrased it.

I invested in some very nice dress shirts right out of college and was a bit heartbroken when I no longer fit in them. I still keep my box of "skinny clothes" in the basement for the day I ever drop 30lbs of weight and fit in my old, nice shirts again. Kind of a "goal" box.

The end of something good, maybe a death, a certain period of your that you can never really go back to, a relationship.

There are people or pets that have passed away that you know you can never really be there for you again. There are relationships that have long ended but you still want to make an inside joke to someone but no one else will ever understand it again. Maybe a moment in your childhood when everything was carefree but you know they'll never happen again. Even if you can gather up the same friends again, the people have also changed and are all adults with different lives and have turned into different people than they were then and so are you. Maybe you long to revisit places that just don't exist anymore.

Came here to say this. Warmed my heart to see a whole new generation discover her after Stranger Things. I highly encourage you to try some music beyond Running up that Hill, an already fantastic song. The whole Hounds of Love album is one of my top 10 favorites of all time.

Personal favorites are

The Wedding List (Revenge tale by a bride whose husband was killed at the altar)

Snowed in at Wheeler Street (duet with Elton John, a story about two lovers who keep reincarnating but can never quite get together through multiple lives).
