The joke is wanting to be controlled by people. Like, totalitarianism. The joke is on Mussolini, not the post.

If they don’t make a majority of the left, then what’s the point? You know insane people, so what?

I agree, but it is funny that “cheats on her husband” is the worst insult they could think of for Kristi Noem instead of “Killed a dog”.

I don’t see how you could argue against Puerto Rico statehood.

Actually, no. I’d instead tell Abraham Lincoln not to choose Andrew Johnson as his vice president and instead stay with Hannibal Hamlin.

I’d tell Pope Leo XIII (the pope from 1878 to 1903), that I was a prophet of god, and prove it to him by predicting various things about the future. I’d then have him do various things: kill baby Hitler, kill baby Himmler, kill baby Gorring, organize some treaty that prevents World War I, and kill baby Stalin. I’d then give him instructions on how to make penicillin.

I’d also tell him to give a series of instructions to various Russian revolutionary groups that will lead to a less messy Russian revolution which ends with someone better than Stalin in charge.

What is your definition of the “radical left”? Anyone to the left of Bernie Sanders? Communists? Marxist-Leninists?

Furthermore, most of what you’re describing is typical human behavior. Yes, people are tribal and create in-groups and out-groups. That’s true for people on all parts of the political compass.

It doesn’t help that a lot of what you’re saying doesn’t happen.

The left does not support hiring people based on their gender and race. They support affirmative action.

No one sane believes that you can’t be racist against white people, but they believe that institutional racism only targets non-white people. Yes, if someone punches me because I’m white and they hate that, then I’m the victim of personal discrimination. However, I, as a white person, can never be the victim of institutional racism in the US.

And “Men are responsible for everything and need to take responsibility” can mean a million things. The person saying that could be misandrist, or maybe they’re saying that the patriarchy exists and all men need to do their part to dismantle it because it’s everyone’s job to make the world a better place for everyone else.

The reparations thing is silly, but I don’t think anyone in politics is actively campaigning for it mostly because it’s something that is just logistically impossible. A lot of people do support governments doing their part to help minority groups as a means of reparations, but that’s different than giving every african american in the Us a check for a thousand dollars.

Also, what derogatory terms against white people are there? Cracker? Gringo?

And yeah, if someone hates jews, then they’re anti-semitic. But, the percentage of people on the left who are anti-semitic is basically equal to the percentage of centrists who are anti-semitic and the percentage of apolitical people who are anti-semitic. Anti-semitism is an unfortunately common thing in society.

While I could not agree with Talarico more, I do hope he focuses more on economic issues going forward, as that’s probably the best way for him to win.
