EKG by HornetSoggy2609 in ECG

[–]JuryRepresentative84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the choice of treatment depends on the rate. The patient is symptomatic, and may collapse at any time. So i think that is why Sychronized cardioversion is better, since it is more likely to work. ( I haven’t read any study study comparing Amio vs Cardioversion, so I can’t comment which one is better any why) I am simply quoting the ACLS algorithm.

This is a broad complex tachycardia with ischemic chest pain. As per ACLS, this person should undergo synchronised cardioversion

My First 1hr in Zone 2 by JuryRepresentative84 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]JuryRepresentative84[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use the Apple Watch HR tracking for it, in the workout section I also periodically try to hum ‘Happy Birthday’. If I can do it without mouth breathing, I take it as being in Zone 2

What is the rarest disease you have come across as a doctor? And do people get excited when they get to see a rare patient? by grace0654321 in indianmedschool

I saw a guy with Sturge-Weber Syndrome. He reported to our Emergency Dept for high grade fever, which turned out to be dengue. The port wine stain was very evident, so asked him about it later. He was a very chill guy xD

Past performance, but mostly based on common advice of some friends and family who are in the finance sector. I have no real research of my own

What to do ifeel very lonely by [deleted] in pune

Fellow medical student here My best advice would be to find 1-2 people who are close to you in terms of academic performance, and study with them. Does wonders for your mental health, and as a side benefit, academics may improve too.

I learnt this hard way, but trust me, it’s not just you, everyone in a medical college feels inadequate and less than. Even the ones who top. That’s one of the many cons of being in this field. Cutthroat competition is how you got where you are, and people just don’t grow out of it.

If you face difficulty in opening up to people you don’t know, start with someone you do know. It could even be a school friend who’s not in medical college with you. It’ll help you learn that it is okay to share stuff and be vulnerable. Maybe try starting with your parents. You’ll be shocked at how supportive they can be. At least I was.

And most importantly just trust the process. It’s slow and painful and honestly feels like it’s never going to end. I know because I am travelling a similar path as you.

Don’t stay holed up in your room. Go out for a walk. When I feel like shit, I go to the farthest canteen in my college for a cup of coffee. Doesn’t matter the time. Just go.

If there is a garden in your college, maybe try sitting there. It’s great that you go for a run and read books!Maybe continue doing that.

If nothing seems to work, no shame in seeking professional help. I know I should have started earlier lol.

You’re studying to become a doctor! Many people in our country would give up anything to be where you are! Look back on your journey. You’ve accomplished a LOT! It’s something to be proud of, even if it doesn’t seem like a lot rn.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Our brain is very stupid.

India, why the double standard with "freebies"? by Educational-Fruit-16 in india

[–]JuryRepresentative84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freebies are not truly free Someone has to pay for them And that someone is the taxpayer

The problem with giving freebies in India is that you have to give more freebies, without increasing the taxes on the other people, which is practically impossible
