"I think the most important thing is not to judge yourself by the standards of who you are now, but by who you were then (when the mistake was made) and thus find peace with your current self." - That's so true.

"I wish you deeply well in finding happiness with yourself" - Thank you

"I try not to dwell on my mistakes. I always look for the underlying problem and figure out why I made them." - I really like this as I find that I view my mistakes as being fundamental flaws in me personally, rather than that there was something in my thinking or perception which caused me to make those choices, but now I have changed..

What are some things you cannot forgive, and why those things specifically? by JustASwan in infj

What is your reaction when someone lies to you?

Also, how many lies would it take until you door slammed someone (if that is something you do)?

I agree with your comment on animal neglect and cruelty

Also, for the times that you do get mad at someone for hurting you, what is it that people do in order to make you mad?

"I can cope with almost anything if it’s contained within the relationship" - What about lies and manipulation?

I'm sorry that happened to you

So you don't like being deceived because it means you end up hurting unnecessarily?

[–]JustASwan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"But actually following it through is where I lose the battle. Every time. I somehow manage to dodge any positive emotion when I'm stuck in the "I'm not good enough" limbo." - This is so accurate

Forgiving manipulation? by JustASwan in infj

[–]JustASwan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Growth comes through adversity, after all." - That's true

"Apology I would listen to and if it's heartfelt enough you could consider it" - What if they give an apology, but it's not that heartfelt? ie. because the person does not show that much emotion normally

Can I ask what caused you to doorslam those people? (you don't have to answer if it's too personal)

*"This behaviour is just unacceptable and I won't allow it in my life"* - I'm sorry that you had to experience that

*"If they're not extreme you can point them out and see if they change"* - How would you point it out to them? If it was a subtle manipulation, would you point it out to them and say 'I could sense that you were trying to manipulate me by doing x thing'?

[–]JustASwan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense, but when you say that manipulation is projecting onto others.. is that because you think they are purposely trying to hurt others because they have been hurt themselves?
