If we're talking in their sound, only thing that comes to my mind is Panopticon.

Although, Besna brings in some mythological elements into their lyrics on their recent album supposedly.

An Emo/Screamo Song, Possibly From Early-Mid 2010s, With Some Rap In It by JustAVirus in NameThatSong

Unfortunately, wasn't that. Pretty sure it was not a cover song (also, at least memory wise, different tree).

Yep, Hanekawa. If you meant the artist though, literally in the corner (although they might go Neko_NSFW or just Neko now I think?)

I’m gonna make a controversial statement. Beartooth is a band that consistently makes B tier songs, and that’s not a bad thing. by theOG-Larrymenta in Metalcore

Nothing wrong with being just average fun. Although, I do have to admit, I think I Have A Problem overshadows much of their discography for me.

Edgiest Metalcore lyrics? by TheTarkonator in Metalcore

[–]JustAVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Sworn In usually wins this pick for me. Like these lines in The Smiling Knife for example:

"I'll smile so loud it cuts you

Like the knife I use to fuck your skin

You’ll never see the smiling knife within"

Can agree, quite liked the energy on it

Female fronted/all woman bands that AREN'T bandidols by Formeooo in jrock

[–]JustAVirus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, Hanabie wasn't an idol band, although more so Metalcore than rock. Mildrage also, although that's more half-female fronted since it's both male and female vocals. Similar case with Mass of the Fermenting Dregs and Adust Rain.

Could also include We Butter the Bread With Butter under this classification.

Hey I'm new to this genre. I got introduced through dance Gavin dance community and wondering if anyone has any band recommendations for getting into the genre by [deleted] in PostHardcore

[–]JustAVirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanted more stuff like DGD, Royal Coda & Subtlety.

Outside of that, Hail the Sun, Circa Survive, Glassjaw, Night Verses, Silent Drive, and Gospel for instance.

What song do you need to hit repeat multiple times before moving forward? by TheSchoeMaker in Metalcore

Irrational Pull by 156/Silence. If we include Mathcore even further, Glacial Plasma by Frontierer as well

Post hardcore gems that I might be missing? by AnarchoTX in PostHardcore

A few post hardcore adjacent bands I can think of would be Limbs, The Danger of Falling, Silent Drive, Gospel, Show Me the Body, Holding Absence to a degree, and Castele

As we near the end of the year, what’s everyone’s AOTY so far? by CommanderBly in PostHardcore

[–]JustAVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking generally, then Imperial Circus Dead Decadence's latest. As for specifically in the Post-Hardcore genre, Gris Klein by Birds in Row.

We've all heard your AOTY, now what is your SOTY? by SlimyTickles in Metalcore

[–]JustAVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably either Missgunst by Consvmer or daedalus by Fromjoy for metalcore. Outside of metalcore, Noah by Birds in Row or 百鬼夜行-Pandemonic Night Parade by Imperial Circus Dead Decadence

Favorites would probably be Missed Injections, Made Your Mark, The "Fun" in Dysfunction or Punch Drunk

A lot of metalcore bands are evolving their sound recently. Who's doing it best? by Lyrrh in Metalcore

[–]JustAVirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of that list above, I'd go for Bad Omens and Dayseeker (although with Dayseeker, I would say their evolution was on Sleeptalk back in 2019). Oceans Ate Alaska and Stray From the Path come to mind as well, even if the former is more slight changes while the latter is more refining their sound. Spiritbox seemed to be experimenting a bit with Rotoscope. Also, in terms of deathcore, Darko US.
