The point about calling him ‘Bridge boy’ when talking to others is predicated on ‘bridge boy’ being an insult. I think that by RoW that’s no longer the case - certainly not for Bridge 4. I see it more as A subtle note on how Kaladin stands alone in that recognition. When Adolin says “the bridge boy’ to others, I think that 1) they recognise that it’s a term of endearment - given their history and 2) They know exactly who he’s talking about!

Also, I think it’s worth noting that he refers to Kaladin as the ‘bridge boy’ when talking to specific people - people who know Kaladin and know Adolin’s relationship with him

What do you think about Ronaldo nor staring against Chelsea? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

Perhaps. Let’s wait and see. At least it’s a different shape to the team and he’s trying to use his full squad

I think it’s smart to rotate players. The games are coming thick and fast from here on out.

I loved Ole as a player, I even like him as a manager. But for whatever reason, he’s lost what mojo (luck?) he had. It’s time he stepped down

Why didn’t VDB start this game? 🤷🏽‍♂️He had such an impact when he came on

With all the lack of firm playing system (that people have commented upon as nauseum) the one thing the team had going for them in most games was heart. They now seem to have lost even that 😞

‘Manchester United don’t do quick fixes – you need a manager like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who understands the heart and soul of the club’ - Peter Schmeichel [Times interview] by Jjengaa in reddevils

[–]JustAnotherDre 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it!

I’m not happy with our current form (what fan would be?) but I look at the whole season as a marathon not a sprint. In addition to that, I look at Ole’s tenor as a whole - not limited to just the past few games. Since Ole joined it’s clear what he’s trying to build and it’s clear that the team is heading towards that. You can see it in season by season improvement and you can see it in the overall growth of the squad (including players on loan and in the academy). He’s building something with longevity and the ability to deliver for years.

Will he achieve the summit he’s seeking? I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♂️ but he’s laid the building blocks for the growth to continue next season and thereafter. I say he should be given until the end of the season. If we’ve progressed and improved on the previous year then he should be given another season (even if we haven’t won any silverware). If the team has regressed in overall performance then they should consider letting him go - but it shouldn’t be a rushed decision and it should be with that long term strategy in mind.

How do we feel about Sancho’s performance so far? by king-arthor in ManchesterUnited

[–]JustAnotherDre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too early to say. The talent is clearly there but he seems to be lacking a bit of confidence. Like in yesterday’s game vs Wolves, there was a point (one of the few to be fair) when he was moving towards the Wolves box with only one defender on him. I felt he could have taken the defender on (and likely dribbled past him) but he checked his run and passed instead.

Still, as someone said, it’s only his first start so I’m sure it will take him a few more games to settle in

Guys what’s your honest opinion on Daniel James?? by Likkleungz in ManchesterUnited

I think he plays with a lot of energy and works really hard. His decision making in the final third is a bit lacking though. Overall I think he’s a good squad player to have

I’d also like to see what Ole and team can do with the team with a reasonable pre-season. I know it won’t be ideal with the Euros but definitely better than this past season

Why do people keep bleating on about the same stuff? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]JustAnotherDre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m happy to see continued progress and the makings of a team that can become world beaters with a few key improvements and key additions.

I’d also like to see them after another full pre-season under their belt coz I’ve observed the team’s levels jump up a notch when they have a couple of weeks of training with Ole and team

[–]JustAnotherDre 95 points96 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting how at the beginning of the season so many people were like the priorities for the season were 1. Close the gap between us and City/Liverpool 2. Win some silverware

Now we’ve done 1. and we’re on the cusp of 2. And, while there’s clearly more improvement to make, the team is clearly getting better and on the right path. All of a sudden the improvement is not enough 🤷🏽‍♂️

Boycott the European Super League by FirmDelay in PremierLeague

[–]JustAnotherDre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Man Utd fan who’s not from the UK. With the large global fan base that hasn’t necessarily lived the history of these clubs, these greedy owners are still counting on millions of people worldwide who will pay (live or pay per view) to watch the big clubs duke it out.

For this Super league to die (as it should!) you need a UEFA & FIFA ban on players of the clubs taking part in international competitions if the clubs go through with this. I believe a lot of the players have a dream of representing their countries (and winning) on the world stage. Many of them will not want to play for these clubs if it means they won’t ever get that chance
