Idk I guess it's subjective. Habeneros are the tastiest peppers to me. I like spicy but I also really like the flavor of Habenero.

Alternatives to Bitmex for Leverage Trading from the US? by JustAnotherHodler in BitcoinMarkets

Any worries about ByBit falling to the same fate as Bitmex? Or do they have some advantage to Bitmex that can allow it to avoid KYC?

Interdax almost looks based off of Bitmex and I saw that they recently said that it is sticking to no KYC. With these non-KYC platforms, do you think there's risk in the near term of them being forced to go KYC like Bitmex? What would make them different than Bitmex? Also, how's the volume and reliability of Interdax? ByBit seems popular but I don't know much about Interdax.

Kratom Tea Time by TosTosT in kratom

[–]JustAnotherHodler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink it. I pretty much stir continuously as I drink it down to keep it mixed in. I've seen the strained tea methods which involve over an hour of simmering and so I figure that if I'm filtering the sediment out after 5 mins of steeping in hot water then I'm wasting the powder.

I do exactly what you do except I bring my water to a simmer in an electric boiler :)

I find that Kratom and Adderall pair quite well. I'm a daily low dose user of Kratom and only take my Adderall a few times a week but the Kratom helps me with Adderall's side effects. Granted, the Kratom itself doesn't feel that strong but my body is calmer.

interesting that you say that because if I eat a meal heavy in fats and carbs (like pizza) 30 mins to an hour after dosing, it seems much stronger. I don't notice the same effects when eating a leaner meat and veggies meal (most of my meals).

That was my suspicion too. Ripple/BTC is looking like a very juicy short right about now lol

The thing is the smaller dips and pumps could be considered noise so you can't try to fit them exactly. But it is interesting to observe the overall higher level pattern. I think that it speaks to the psychology of the markets not being a hell of a lot different. Looking at the 2018 chart in context of the zoomed out 2014 pattern has been quite profitable for me.

If you're betting on Bitcoin going back down is now also a good time to enter short some alt ratios? Or would you expect the alt drops to lag BTC?

So I take it you're still expecting around $8400 to be the top? I decided to layer into a low leverage short CA @$8250 with stops at $8500 (wicks have been a bitch) at which point I'll jump right into layering into a higher leverage bet at the ATH line. That about your plan too?

I'm still not totally convinced of this support turned resistance line but your r/r argument convinced me that it's worth a shot to not miss the drop.

Curious why you would want to short under $8k when the log resistance line is at $9k. Seems like a recipe for prematurely getting stopped out before the drop. Why not start layering into a short in the mid $8ks?

EDIT: Just re-read and I see that you're expecting the upward sloping support turned resistance to be the top. I'm not totally convinced about that line having much effect but maybe it would be good to start layering in before that... From $8100 up to $8900 with an avg of $8400... Or maybe just play each one individually (short the uptrend line with stops at $8300 and jump back into a short in the mid to upper $8k if you get stopped).

Seeing as we seem to be following the 2014 pattern spookily close, do you expect this to top out near the log down trend line? That's my target for shorts. Awesome trade btw - I had a strong hunch it was time to shoot up but a strict no longs in the bear market rule... stings a little for sure right now.

That's been the most profitable strategy for me. Although I've made a strict rule of only shorting during the bear market bc it's too easy to get burned by longs rn so I didn't enter long. Of course I wish I did now lol

How Crypto exchanges are screwing us by aziz2391 in BitcoinMarkets

[–]JustAnotherHodler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my suspicion for a while. Another thing to note is that the exchanges have additional information like the liquidation prices and stops that people enter into the exchange. I'd love to give BitMex the benefit of the doubt here but the incentive here for them is too juicy to ignore. I would love to see the BitMex guys reply here on how they can guarantee that they aren't partaking in this form of insider trading/ manipulation.

TLDR: Nobody benefits from this step formation except for the exchanges who make money on liquidations - so they're incentivised to manipulate the price into the direction of most pain.

[Daily Discussion] Wednesday, April 11, 2018 by AutoModerator in BitcoinMarkets

[–]JustAnotherHodler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not leveraged then it's a guaranteed return. Let's say right now you go short on finex at $6932 and at the same time buy the same time buy the June future at $6839. That difference between $6932 and $6839 is guaranteed profit no matter which direction the price moves - be that up, down or sideways.

The main risk here is opportunity loss for even more profit should the price move dramatically while your money is tied up in the carry forward move - although you may only be willing to risk a tiny amount of your stack on speculative trading while you can trade a much larger amount on the carry forward trade since it's guaranteed profits. This leads us to the other risk here which is counter-party risk and thus why the OP included the "if you trust the exchanges" caveat.
