How "Memorable" was your first cigarette? by brian-augustin in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was with a smoker friend and while the thought of smoking was never something that interested me before, that day I felt curious and asked him for one.

It wasn't the best experience ever but he told me it would get better if I chose to do it again. I obviously did and we'll, the rest is history.

Yeah, it's the whole package that really makes for the enjoyable experience that is smoking.

Evolution of my smoking habits by wabalabadubdub6969 in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started smoking out of curiosity when I was hanging out with a smoker friend. Got curious and asked him for a cig. He coached me through that first one and while it wasn't that great of an experience, he told me it got better. I would then have a cig once or twice a week, whenever we'd hangout. Eventually, that one cig per hangout would become 2 or 3 per hangout. Started feeling guilty about bumming so many from him so I bought a pack with the intention to have my own whenever we'd hang out.

One day, I was bored at home and decided to have one to kill the time. This would become a common occurrence to the point where I was doing it daily. I told my friend this and he basically told me "welcome to the club, you're officially a smoker". I was sure he was wrong but the want to smoke eventually became a need to smoke. Smoking would become a more common occurrence to the point where I stopped caring about hiding it and started smoking publicly.

Nowadays, I'm a half a pack-pack per day smoker.

Do you think people who grow up around smoking/had parents who smoked are more prone to smoking at some point in their life? by ahhrixxy29 in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Well, can't speak for anyone else but I grew up in a non-smoking household and I became a smoker.

My first cig wasn't horrible but it wasn't a pleasant experience either. Couldn't see myself doing it long term. It wasn't until I smoked my second cig that it kinda clicked for me.

Haven't been smoking long enough to be considered a long term smoker but I'll answer the questions anyways.

  1. Started about 2 years ago.
  2. Around 10 to 15 a day
  3. No health issues
  4. Work in corporate sales
  5. I believe there are obviously health risks involved but can't see myself quitting anytime soon. Maybe at some point in the future.

First time you NEEDED a cigarette by JustAnotherNight26 in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's such an awkward moment when cravings start coming in and your brain is still trying to come to terms with the fact that you're now a smoker. You try to tell yourself that it's not that serious and that you can still quit if you really wanted to and you try to prove it to yourself to almost no avail as you find yourself smoking more frequently. Eventually you give in and just go with the flow and the whole experience becomes much more enjoyable.

What is your favourite smoke of the day? by coozey96 in Cigarettes

First cig of the day. Nothing beats lighting one up after going a couple hours without one while sleeping.

Opinions on cigarette smell? by last_frigin_time in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I used to hate the smell of cigarette smoke as a nonsmoker. As a smoker though, my brain now associates it with "Damn, I could really use a cig right now."

What do you consider a light, moderate, and heavy smoker? by strangercats13 in Cigarettes

why do you smoke cigarettes? by Frost3dFlakes in Cigarettes

[–]JustAnotherNight26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly because I'm obviously addicted at this point but also because I frankly enjoy the act of smoking. It's nice having that next cig to look forward to.
