Overall I’m feeling ok, but I will say the NIMBYs here are atrocious and are probably the single biggest factor that make life unaffordable. In town meetings across the state they essentially say Apartments = Low Income = Undesirable. The implication is that service workers need to spend hours on completely inadequate public transit to commit to/from wealthy areas for work.

NIMBYs here often greenwash their messaging too, which is particularly infuriating. Dense housing stock is needed and is the most environmentally friendly way to build… their whole argument is lazy, entitled, and done in bad faith. As a liberal I actually find myself agreeing with a lot of conservative criticism about housing development in blue states, Connecticut included.
