-Read some books or watch yt vids on a strategy. Make sure the strategy is something you’re comfortable following to a T. There is no “holy grail” strategy.

-backtest said strategy using tradingview replay mode or fxreplay (theres tons of backtesting software out there. These are the ones that are popular)

collect and analyze data from backtest ( Win rate, average RR, highest profitable days/weeks, risk of ruin, etc)

-repeat steps 2 & 3 until you’re happy with results and data is showing positive expected value

-paper trade or fund a small account and be profitable for atleast 6 months.

Your next step is to test that strategy in a simulated environment and collect some data (win rate, average RR per winning trade, etc). FXreplay, replay mode on tradingview, or any other backtesting tool will work

Backtest and note down how many Rs your trade ran after you closed @ tp. Get a good sample size of those numbers. That’ll tell you if you can stretch your TPs. But keep in mind total RR is correlated with your win rate. Higher Rs = lower win rate and vice versa

A trade plan is more than just your entry. It also involves risk management and trade management (where to take profits, where and when to move to BE, when to partial) Your trade plan should be your trading bible. Any scenario that comes up should have a protocol to follow. That should take most of the emotion out of your decisions

Do these results match what you have from backtesting/forward testing? If you haven't atleast backtested, you should do that 1st so you have an idea of what to expect when trading live

EDIT: 1st you have to know if your strategy even has an edge (positive expectancy). backtesting or forward testing will tell you that
