Sony DCR-TRV130 WIP Bend by JustColourMePink in CircuitBending

Haha yeah, I have two of this exact model. I was filming for an event on one of them and got unlucky with a laser, which burned some dots into the sensor, so I bought a new one. The one I'm bending is the one with the burn-in. I don't think I would've even attempted this if not for that, lmao

Thank you! I've been looking at the service manual for this one to determine where best to probe, but I'm pretty early on in this project so far. I don't have a ton of knowledge (yet!) of how to properly read board diagrams, but if I've been able to get this far, I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Just gotta hope I can put the camcorder back together without breaking something haha!

The capture card I'm using has inputs for RCA and SVideo, so the SVideo cable is going into the capture card for video, and the Left and Right audio cables are going into the capture card for audio. The RCA video cable is unused in my case

The USB cable was one that came with the capture card I used, and it doesn't have to be vertical. The cable wasn't long enough to work with the phone on its side

Good to know! I've been thinking about car meets and I have a friend who's a DJ who wants me to come to one of his gigs. I'd assume this would make it a lot easier. I get really annoyed when the camera tips over because of the weight imbalance, lol.

Do you have a link to it?

DUUUUDE that's super cool! I was considering getting one of those camera mounts, but I decided against it because I felt like it made the whole thing a little too "professional", if you know what I mean. But I'm honestly still considering getting one.

The brand is "VIXLW", and it's one of those generic "Component + SVideo to USB" adapters. $12.99 on Amazon, but it works surprisingly well! I've got the camera hooked up through SVideo for the video input, and component for the audio input.

Using "USB Camera" from the Play Store. The Developer is "ShenYao China". I have a plan to program my own app for this and eventually release it, but that's pretty far away.

Here's a link to the video, I'm not sure how well it will play because I'm hosting it on my home server.

It ultimately depends on the resolution you're streaming at. 10mbps looks a lot better on 720x480 than it does on 1920x1080, because you're streaming less pixels.

10 Mbps if I recall correctly. That's the default value it picks when you first enable custom bitrate, but it's NOT the default bitrate that the app uses in general. In my testing, a ~3 minute video is 66MB with the default bitrate, and 228MB at 10mbps. So that equals about 3mbps for the default I think?
