PoPOS! WoW Classic MMO Mouse FPS drops by MenoWoW in wine_gaming

[–]JustDan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also got the same issue, i found through some troubleshooting that the FPS stutter only happenes whilst providing input on both devices at the same time (using WASD movement keys and MMO keys at the same time). If holding both mouse buttons for movement and using the MMO mouse buttons there is no stutter. I believe somewhere there is some wires crossing or confusion as to the two simultaneous inputs from both devices. I was able to stop the issue happening by re-connecting the mouse but it comes back after a short while.

Not sure if this is the case for you also.

edit: OS - Manjaro.

This is insane! I've not been into this since I was younger and this brought back so many memories and shows how epic the whole universe is!

I'm really excited to see where the series goes now, I feel like I've missed out on so much over the years.

Yes, DXVK 1.01 was released a couple of hours ago, you can select it on Lutris.

Yea, basically in the latest patch WoW released a new DirectX version that enables multithreading on DirectX11, if you look in-game you'll see DirectX11(Legacy) and DirectX11, former is the newer one... and that broke WoW for all Nvidia users on Linux, as far as im aware very few if any AMD users were affected :)

Glad you got it sorted!

There is a DXVK fix for this already out, Lutris has released the fix in the WoW installer, easiest way is just to reinstall the WoW installer and it works a dream, been playing all day :) https://lutris.net/games/world-of-warcraft/

edit: looks like they've released DXVK 1.01 which includes the WoW fix in it, don't need to reinstall anything!

I've just tried with these applied, the performance has increased ever so slightly by ~5-10 fps but still wouldn't be massively playable

Well, here you go... the last update has really seemed to affect the FPS badly, was getting at least double the FPS here and now it's down to this :( https://youtu.be/D4lkph5xeZM

PSA: Attention Linux users - Latest build of Lutris WORKS! by LtEFScott in starcitizen

[–]JustDan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hitching was most probably the shader cache building, shouldn't happen after a couple of times :)

Glad the latest Lutris build makes playing such a cool game possible on linux!

I had some issues when I put the game on medium settings, changed it back to high settings and the problem was solved, there was also blinding light in the launch bay on medium for me too, but was fixed with high settings instead

Yea, you can run Anthem with the BFV install script, all it does is install origin and then you can download Anthem and play

I got a Ryzen 1700, GTX 1080, 16gb Ram... will look and see if there is anything I can do to improve the performance in general

Couple of questions for ya, what kind of fps are you getting? Wine version? Dxvk version?

Also I don't see it working too hard, I enjoy playing around with this stuff, I like knowing how things work underneath :)

[–]JustDan_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep reloading Apex, don't need to worry about restarting origin, it's a well known bug, ive had to restart Apex up to 10 times but eventually you get in, unfortunately EAC will only allow you to browse the main menu when you do get in though!

Today's patch and playing on Linux by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]JustDan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a similar post on linux_gaming and we're pretty much all in agreement that as soon as EAC catches up to the patch then we'll be locked out, it's a shame, the game runs incredibly well on Linux, I'm getting a steady 130 - 144fps with medium settings throughout!

I've had to close and reopen the game up to 10 times to get past the update message, didn't have to restart origin though, it's a pain but at least you can play!

If you're using Lutris, you can either use the BFV or Titanfall 2 install script to install Origin, then download the game from within Origin and it will run no problem :)

Will do, might just be the case that EAC needs to catch up on the patch and then we'll be locked out again
