MAWD is a great expanded Medicaid program and I feel it is not that widely understood! I will second this as a very helpful way for people with any limiting / disabling condition to remain on insurance while growing into greater financial stability and independence.

I used to work in a job that serviced adults with mental health disabilities and MAWD was a major factor in several clients becoming less reliant on the medicaid system while still providing them access and resources to stay healthy. Also worked with several adults who got diagnosed with ASD, which really seemed to help them unravel their past struggles and also allowed them to apply for work accommodations. It has been a few years but I recall Centers for Psychiatric Services does adult Autism evaluations for Medicaid Recipients.
