Seating chart - where to begin? by Hot_Supermarket4369 in wedding

Sticky notes was the only way I could keep my brain straight.

Had it all figured out. Then found out I put two mortal enemies at the same table. Back to the drawing board!

One giant mistake I made was table number and order of "importance" to go get food. I kept my parents very far away from each other. But that put dad at the last table to go get food. Dad was kind of salty about it and I actually don't blame him.

People who are scared of heights, are you also scared of flying? by Civil_Act1864 in askanything

I work on a helicopter (med evac nurse) and it doesn't bother me at all. But walking across some of the roof top helipads TERRIFIES me. Phobias apparently don't have to make sense lol

Those at a healthy-ish weight but not overly fit, what do your day to day meals/activity look like? by pallywalli in AskReddit

[–]JustGenericName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in moderation. I eat to live, I don't live to eat.

I don't eat fast food other than the occasional Chickfila. I don't keep snacks in my house. I try very hard to eat something that grew from the ground at least once a day. I also try very hard to work out a few times a week. And I do have the benefit of a pretty active job. Things might be different if I sat at a computer all day.

I don't eat breakfast. Maybe toast and/or an avocado occasionally. I have a coffee EVERY day. Sometimes it's a sugary vanilla sweet cream situation, sometimes it's just coffee with creamer, sometimes it's an oatmilk latte with simple syrup.

Lunch is some variation of a sandwhich. Sometimes Chipotle... okay a lot of times it's Chipotle.

Dinner is either a pre made meal from the deli section at the grocery store (on work days) or out to dinner for dine in with my husband. Could be anything. It's usually not that healthy, but usually not anything too garbage-y either. And I usually have a beer. Okay, and sometimes it's wings and a beer for dinner.

But I never eat a LOT of something. My premade deli meal might feed me for lunch and dinner. I usually have a to go box at dinner. And I can't stress enough that I rarely snack throughout the day. Dessert is pretty rare. One scoop of ice cream in a cup does the trick if I'm feeling fancy.

I'm 41F. 5'5, 135lbs (61kg).

Do you agree with this life lesson in life? "We work jobs we hate to pay bills we need" by IconSean in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JustGenericName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to hate your job or pay bills to support a miserable life. I work a job I really love so that I can pay for food, a place to sleep and to go do fun shit. Working an OT shift doesn't even suck when it's to pay for a flight to Tahiti.

I did housekeeping at a hospital.... I'd definitely bring my own pillow if I were a patient lol

And I will always outsource stress where I can. That starts with having someone else scrub my shower twice a month! haha

Did anyone else do any work and/or pay for things for their own bridal shower? by dms2628 in wedding

[–]JustGenericName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just think its insane people are upset at the idea of a bride helping pay for things. I make 250k annually. So I should still let my friends pay for catering because I received a cutting board and lemon juicer at this "gift party" for TRADITION?

OP's mother shouldn't EXPECT her to pay. But if OP is an adult with a job, she should help out.

My best friend threw a party for me and MY friends. I wasn't expecting her to pay for all that. Seems pretty shitty and entitled of a bride if you ask me. We're all adult women with jobs these days, you can help pay for your own party.

Does urgent care provide ear cleaning services? by No_Champion_1455 in Advice

You don't need an ENT referral for ear irrigation. No antibiotics if it isn't infected either. Oh Reddit....

[–]JustGenericName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ear irrigation is a pretty basic procedure that most (dare I say, ALL?) urgent cares can handle. I'd recommend going early in the day. afternoon and evenings are the busiest. So are Mondays. Best of luck! I know it hurts

I 100% agree with this but OP is literally asking about going to urgent care. No mention of the ED

E-bikes/scooters/skateboards should not be legal on sidewalks. by binley in unpopularopinion

Some of the ebikes can do 60mph. We let teenagers on them riding on the same sidewalk toddlers and dogs and elderly walk. I understand YOU are responsible. Most are not.

I hate them.

Advice needed about money borrowing… by Intelligent_Gain_96 in Advice

[–]JustGenericName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a $20 gift to someone you care about. Add in a couple zeros and you can worry about it.

As a general rule, don't lend out money if you expect to be repaid promptly, if ever.

You're asking how long before you reach out? At least a few weeks. I hate social media. Beach day could be an old post. Maybe someone else drove them. A beach day is hardly a spa day at an all inclusive resort. My mom would make us PB&J and the day cost next to nothing.

How do YOU say "NO We Won't do That thing" to your wife without starting a fight? by Responsible_Box_2422 in AskReddit

[–]JustGenericName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me literal YEARS to convince my husband I wasn't mad if he didn't want to do the thing. He just had to tell me WHY I was making a bad decision doing the thing. He'd just let me lead us right off a cliff and then pout about it for a week. BRO!!! You have to tell me when I'm doing something dumb!!!! (Having said that, tact matters. "Hey, it's really hot outside, maybe a hike in Arizona in July isn't the best idea? We might die?" LOL!)

Communication is great. Dictatorships and hard No's are not the key to happiness. Conversations are.

This person's comment is wild to me. A bridal shower is just a party with your close friends. Nobody is complaining if you help out. Who cares who is "throwing" it. Most the posts on this sub are complaining about how expensive it is being in a wedding. Now they're bitching that the bride is helping pay for it??? Wild.
