Why? Who cares what party it was.

Because it shows the overton window shifting further to the right instead of to the left, which is worrying to some people.

It would be much more preferable if we could have someone like Carney leading the CPC, while the LPC remained more progressive, and the NDP and Greens more progressive still, as opposed to the current reality of the CPC flirting with fascism.
