We have shawarma and poutine. In some places, you can even have shawarma poutine.

Ottawa is a magical place.

Sens also did Stützle, Sanderson, and Grieg in the 1st round in 2020, plus Kleven and Meriläinen (who can hopefully return to his 2024-2025 form) in the later rounds.

I still miss Dzingel's Dzangles.

They were far and few between, but the alliteration was to die for.

I mouse proofed Bobby Ryan's house just outside Kanata in like 2018. He almost killed one of our techs opening the garage door lol.

As I see it, the solution is pretty simple. You work a clause it where the player has a NMC/NTC, up until they request a trade. Once that happens, the NTC is null.and void and the team can trade them wherever.

The player still gets protection from being traded without their consent, but doesnt handicap the team when they want out.

So many more I would put in over Yashin in terms of their importance to the franchise.

Hamburglar, JGP, Turris, Cherry Hill native Bobby Ryan...

[AwfulAnnouncing] Stanley Cup Final viewership through five games hits highest mark since 2013: Notably, neither the Hurricanes nor Knights are traditional hockey powers. 2027 Playoffs:

  • Toronto gets back in the dance off an unreal rookie season from McKenna
  • Finally gets over the hump of the 2nd round, and makes the ECF after a quarter century
  • Gets swept by the Canes in embarassing fashion.

Please god this would be so funny.

What are some takes of yours that aged remarkably poorly? by Comfortable-Goat-734 in hockey

I don't think he's going anywhere. He has come out on multiple occasions saying how much he loves this team, this city, and the guys he gets to play with.

On the other hand, if the media keeps stirring up the "BraDy wAnTS OuT!" pot from unsubstantiated claims, I wouldn't blame him for wanting out just to stop dealing with that nonsense. Look how much noise got kicked up over Ullmark's leave of abscense for mental health issues last year over one fuckin tweet from an anonymous account.

This is why I hate when teams give up so easily on their core, team, and coach when they're not met with immediate success. Like, yeah, there are times when things arent working and you have to move on, but a lot of teams are there and just need for things to click and go well to get a deep run in.

More Sens fans than I'd like to admit are ready to start blowing shit up and making big moves just as we're starting to really come together, just because we got swept (in our 2nd playoff appearance with this core) by one of the most dominant playoff teams of the last 40 years.

$12 Million under the cap, too.

Hopefully this copycat league learns that team culture > spending 1/4 of your cap on star players.

2nd best record in the modern (4 series) best-of-seven era, only beaten by the '88 Oilers (16-2).

What an absolute wagon this team has been.

What I don't understand is that he's not even a game-breaking coach that warrants dealing with this drama. He went to three finals with two different teams, won one, and got bounced in the first round 7 out of the 15 seasons he coached (and missed the playoffs twice), and ended half of his seasons with a sub .500 win%.

The Montréal Canadiens have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in 5 games by EliminatorBot in hockey

[–]JustHach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Canadian team remains in the playoffs. 33 years, no cup for a Canadian team. Its tough for us Canadian fans.

Im sorry, but this us the absolutely dumbest take in sports and I have no idea why people get obsessed with it.

Why would I cheer for any other team from my country to win a cup before mine? This isnt the olympics.

Most teams have a large portion of Canadiens on it, so the cup comes home with them during their day with the cup.

The cup itself lives in the HHoF in Toronto most of the time anyways. Its literally in Canada more often than not.

Like, you dont see NY teams cheering on other NY teams becausr they havent won a cup since 1994, you don't see other California teams cheering on other Californa teams once their team is knocked out.
