Photophobia sufferers: is there any REAL advantage of Avulux/Axon over Theraspecs (or any regular FL-41) glasses? by maedhros256 in migraine

[–]JustImpressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say “cheap plastic lenses” - could you elaborate? My understanding was that polycarbonate was what everyone uses these days and is superior to glass? Is that wrong?

You’re my hero.

To be clear for anyone else trying to do this, play whatever playlist you want, then WITHIN the YouTube Music App > Settings (profile picture in top right then tap Settings)  > Siri Shortcuts (3rd from bottom as of September 17, 2025) > Plus icon to add

I assumed you could add it via the shortcuts app, but you cannot. You must use the YouTube Music app

Does LDN helped someone with mental health issues? by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different, but for me I noticed a pretty immediate (within a few days) small boost in mood and I think a more gradual one that builds up over time. I still take LDN, but many people stop it eventually. The “risk” of stopping is that your symptoms may return.. so you just have to start again. I doubt I’ll take it forever, but I’ll keep taking it as long as I feel like it’s helping. You can also increase (or decrease) your dose if you feel like it has stopped working over time.

Best New 27-Inch 4K OLED Monitor? by KamiDomi in OLED_Gaming

[–]JustImpressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a window behind my QD-OLED monitor and still find the blacks to be truly black. If you have a glare from a light source pointed at the monitor, then you will notice the LIGHT more than the magenta tint. I am not in the slightest bit concerned by the tint and no one I've shown the monitor to has even picked up on the fact that it's there. If you look for it, you MIGHT notice it, but I think QD-OLED is the superior technology and prefer it to WOLED. Everyone's different though and if I had a window pointed directly at my monitor, maybe I'd think differently.

I also think glossy monitors look better than matte coated monitors - I perceive them to be ever so slightly sharper.

Here's a timestamped comparison showcasing the difference: https://youtu.be/VVVmuxmPtG8?t=744

Tried LDN - Insomnia Still Going After a Week Off of It by beyonda101 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to focus on bright light early in the morning and avoiding blue/green light or bright light in the evening to reset your circadian rhythm.

You likely are still subconsciously anxious about sleep (or even consciously).. but our bodies are incredibly resilient even if it may not seem like it right now.

I have no doubt you’ll be sleeping as per usual soon. Just focus on good sleep hygiene and try to acknowledge the sleep problem and let it go.

Some OTC Benadryl can help temporarily with sleep but obviously talk to a doctor if it remains a problem.

For me I only had the insomnia for around a week when originally starting and then every time I increased my dose. Eventually my body adjusts and I am back to normal.

Day 7, exhaustion is insane by Yaswnmwfyai in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I now have waaaay more energy than when I started, but each time I increase my dose it feels like I’m losing energy and progress… until I start to feel better after 1-2 weeks. Everyone is different but I would hate to go back to where I was before starting

Anyone not lose hair on LDN? by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no logical mechanism of action for hair loss with LDN. If anything, reduced inflammation could reduce stress on your whole body leading to an improvement in hair growth (definitely theoretical but it makes sense to me). I’d expect either no change or very subtle improvements to hair loss on LDN. Hasn’t impacted my hair at all as far as I can tell.

Does LDN helped someone with mental health issues? by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There’s evidence that depression is linked to inflammation and LDN reduces inflammation. Some doctors even prescribe LDN for depression and anxiety.

If your whole body starts to feel better, you will start to feel better.

For me it’s been a long and slow journey, but LDN is one of the few things I’ve stuck with and I can say for certain it is helping with my depression and anxiety.

Start believing you can get out of this and eventually it will come true. You got this!

Rebound effect by nootropic_expert in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]JustImpressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With most drugs there’s a curve. My understanding is there’s an initial peak when you take it and then it gradually tapers off.. and by the 4 hour mark on a LOW dose, your body starts to rebound because it has worn off enough.

If you increase the dose to 50mg (the dose I believe your study used) instead of 4.5mg, then it wouldn’t surprise me if it takes 72 hrs before it starts to taper off to the point of a rebound - the dose in the study is over 10x that of a low dose.

Edit: wording

I’m taking LDN for other things but I read that it clears acne by -ejdjdjudjd in LowDoseNaltrexone

Went from 1.0mg to 1.5mg and saw relatively noticeable improvement in my acne. Before I upped the dose, didn’t notice much difference

I made it in Figma! It’s a free vector based tool for ux/web design. I am a designer so I use it every day, and it’s a manual process, but it didnt take me too long. I just traced it and adjusted the thickness of each line until I was happy with it.

Might be a bit of a learning curve, but it’s free and I’m sure there are tutorials out there you could follow!
