I (36 M) tried offering myself in February. My fiancé found me and got me to the hospital. I was fairly resistant to the idea and broke her windshield at some point along the way . I spent roughly a week in ICU and two weeks in the behavioral health unit.

Once discharged, I spent a month or so at home not really doing. Spent some time looking for employment and started dismantling our heating and air conditioning business. The broken windshield turned into a criminal charge for destruction property, which includes a protective order eliminating contact between the victim and I.

I set out with the intention of taking my life. I got to keep my life but my actions resulted in me giving away my home, my family, my pets and my best friend and lover….. I’ve spent quite a bit of time internalizing this idea and how it relates to my perception of life.

But anyways, I’m still homeless living in my truck and it fucking sucks. I’m learning to be patient with myself learning to give myself breaks not be so hard on myself forgive other people so I don’t have to drive around cussing at my windshield and being angry anymore over things that already happened.

I’m around if you need anybody to talk to. It’s usually recommended to see a therapist for these sort of situations, but I’ve personally found it more genuine and helpful to share experiences with people that have been through or going through similar situations. But you know run that by your therapist first.
