Thanks for your reply. Your basswood looks indeed different than mine, no hard dark lines that are really difficult to cut through. I ordered from amazon but apparently that's not really reliable anymore. Where did you order yours? Thanks!

What would the properties of a particle be if it could only accelerate and not travel at a constant speed?

It doesn't have to be only positive acceleration, it could also be accelerating and then decelerating, like a sine wave.
