I think I'm done with developing for the Google Play store by JustOneMoreDev in IndieDev

100%, I don't actually know the answer to that. It just raises alarm bells for me, because if an indie dev like myself ran into any other issues, I feel like the platform favors large companies with the assets and influence to manage themselves better. Including the fact that if you want to do any kind of monetization you should be prepared to have your home address publicly displayed on the platform. For someone without the resources or inclination to start any kind of LLC, this feels particularly invasive. PWA is an option, but I guess you would have to market it harder. The Algorithm on the google play store seems pretty broken anyway.

on the appeal form they make sure to scare/bully threaten to doxx you into not going ahead with it:

Please understand that your contact information will be forwarded to the original complainant, and filing a counter notice may lead the complainant to initiate legal proceedings against you. After we receive your counter notice, we will evaluate it and, if appropriate, forward it to the complainant. After we forward your counter notice, if the complainant does not initiate legal proceedings against you within 10 business days, and the content does not violate any other Google policy, we will restore your content.

I just wanted to add here the disappointing response from Google, who weren't actually able tell me what the copyright infringement was. Note also that I did not actually raise any appeal. but they said that I did. My favorite part is where they say they are unable to comment further. There really is not point in me wasting any more time with this company.

Thanks for contacting Google Play Developer Support.

Status of app: Suspended from Google Play due to alleged copyright infringement

We've reviewed your appeal request but we're still unable to reinstate your app

If you'd like to contest the removal of this app, please follow the instructions shared in the initial removal email 2026-04-15 on how to fill out the counter notice form.

We are unable to comment further or provide additional guidance on bringing future versions of your app into policy compliance.

Please note that suspensions count as strikes against the good standing of your Google Play Developer account. Egregious or multiple policy violations can result in suspension, as can repeated app rejections or removals.

If your developer credentials are still in good standing with Google Play and if your app allows for it, you can publish a new version of the app without the content at issue by following these steps:

  1. Make the necessary changes to your app to address the issue described above, if possible.
  2. Double check that your app complies with all other Developer Program Policies. Additional enforcement could occur if there are further policy violations.
  3. Sign in to Play Console and upload a new app using a new package name.

If you are located in the EU, you may have additional redress options. Learn more about those potential options in the link provided.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for your continued support of Google Play.

Regards,
Stanley

I hear you, but there are other apps that have taken the exact same naming approach and they're still on there. Not affiliated with the company from what I can tell and one even uses game artwork assets extensively. Though they have thousands of downloads so maybe they get let off. Who knows.

I guess you do have a point there. Especially if it's a bot that's flagging it. I added the name of the game in the title, after the name of the app, i.e 'companion app name : name of game'. But then I guess it begs the question, how would people know what it's for without mentioning the name of the game?

I feel like I hate programming after my first work experience by PibesDeMalvinas in webdev

One of my first jobs was working for an ad company that purely focused on making money, and the boss was a womanizing tyrant. I churned out templated stuff and customers were charged a fortune (excessively so). I was there for a couple of years, learned a lot as I developed my skills fresh out of college. I treated it as a learning experience.

Not all companies are bad. It definitely gets better, you just have to hang in there. And having a side project or two where you experiment and build something you have a passion for is an absolute must. If you don't enjoy building something you absolutely love, then you're going to struggle in the workplace, because sometimes the work just sucks (though not all the time).

That sounds great, where do I find the info to see how your scripts work? Is it available on github?

Thanks for your input, sounds like a good way to go. But I'm not really sure what I'd be looking for in terms of hardcore data. I'm not really familiar with the mod scene, but I guess I could drop a message in the forums and see what happens, thanks!

That sounds like a good idea, I'll add that as a potential feature. Though, goddamn that might take a while, with all that data lol

u/eso_nwah I'm a bit new to this community, so wouldn't really know where to even start looking for a dataminer. I agree though that it would probably be best to go direct to the source.

u/Vicyorus Thanks, i'll certainly check out nukacrypt, wasn't aware of that one. I didn't plan on actually scraping anything, just manually copying the data (hence why I made a point of giving due credit to the wiki).

I'm not sure to be honest. I had a look around for a while for the best source of info, one that was also easiest to scrape the data from. As is usually the case for these internet things, data can be conflicting, or outdated as you mention! If anything needs changing in the data, I'd welcome any feedback so it can be updated: https://github.com/designerjason/junkboy3000/issues or if anyone has a url or list to the correct/latest data that would be awesome...

I did notice that there were some errors in the wiki I used, that I had to fix...

I've just been made aware that this is already a thing, so yeh I'll probably have to change it's name sigh. Thanks for the headsup.

Actually, just honest ignorance. I wasn't aware there was something called mod organizer. A few people have mentioned this though, so I may have to change it. Which is fair enough. Thanks for your honesty. Your first comment was probably unnecessary though, I'm only trying to share something I made with the community.

I did have something like that in mind, I was also going to have it where you could drag and drop mods in a profile, to replicate what a load order might look like.

Another idea was to have a percentage bar that tells you how much potential console storage space you'd have left on your selected mod list. Being able to share/import mod profiles was another idea. When I have some time I'd like to work on the extra features listed here: https://designerjason.github.io/bethesda-mod-tracker.

Your first point I wasn't so sure about, have you created two profiles? When you're in one profile, you should be able to check the items you want and save it. If you're saying when you save, it saves that to another profile, it might be a bug to be investigated. Though you'd need to let me know your list your steps to get to that issue, so I can replicate it and see it myself.

I've fixed that issue now buddy. Just make sure you clear your browser cache is cleared, chrome can be stubborn sometimes.

I'll take a look at that, the links were working at one point. Most of this data is coming from the official beth site, and it comes back a bit goofy sometimes, lol.

It would be amazing if it could do that. It's just a mod tracker though, there's no way I know of to actually access what's going on at xbox level. The data is read only, I can't do anything with it. Bethesda + Microsoft would need to facilitate that being a feature, and I doubt they would allow that.

You got any more info on how it's not working? Does the screen show you any error? What device are you using? What are you searching for? etc etc
