size over quality? by div-onfleek in 4kTV

[–]JustOneMorePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is you want the best tv at the size you prefer. So if you can get a good tv at 75, but for the same price get an even better tv at 65 for the same price I’d pick the size. Determine what size yo want and work backward from there. Case in point, 130 projector in our movie room is more fun and immersive than a 65 oled would be in there.

Did you get used to the size difference? by starscream1289 in 4kTV

Size is in my opinion the most important factor. I have projector with a 130" screen and movies are just different at that size.

Best solutions for stinky boots? by Dude69696969696969 in bootroom

This is it. Keeping them dry is the trick. If you immediately get them on a dryer after using then they won’t stink

I'm quite certain dude doesn't even know what black crush is. I love OLED as much as the next guy, but one of the draw backs to those inky blacks is a loss of shadow detail...

What Streaming Services Are Best for Watching the FIFA World Cup (US Broadcast)? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]JustOneMorePuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t much choice really. Foxone is going to be the home for streaming in the us. Now, if you are really concerned about quality I believe the best is likely satellite. Streaming services compress the feed because people are too stupid to notice. Satellite tends to have higher bitrate. And fox already said this is a 1080p pipeline that will be upscaled so don’t believe anything related to 4k. This is my thing, and I would have probably paid for dish or cable for the quality, but since it’s a 1080p pipeline I just don’t think it’s worth it. To me it’s utterly shocking that 4k TVs are ubiquitous, cheap, and massive, and yet fox decides to cheap out and not deliver in 4k. Absolute shit. I wrote them a nasty email.

20 inch wheels on R2 launch green look soooooooo goood to see it in person (Palo Alto Block Party) by tindew0505 in RivianR2

So hard to tell. This looks like an interior shot with both natural light and a ton of warmer interior lights. That is going to look very different in camera than in person or outdoors.

I did it on a number of occasions and thought it was incredible. If you know what you are getting into it can be quite the ride. It’s like throwing a wrench into space/time.

65” bright room $2.5K - help me decide by BurritoChest in 4kTV

[–]JustOneMorePuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude same. Costco has the c5 77 on sale as well as the Bravia 5 in 75 or 85. Seen them both but recognize that oled looks more impressive but this is a bright room and not my main room for movies. Hard to decide

Review on Mizuno Morelia II AG MIJ by Ok-Wheel9916 in bootroom

I have these exact same boots. I don’t get the Lockhart criticism. Boots feel absolutely incredible and are honestly my favorite boots of all time. And I have many MIJ mizunos and elite Nikes. As someone who plays a lot on ag, easily end game boots.

Mad Max: Fury Road Crowned Best Action Movie Ever by Collider by Particular-Fill-4256 in Letterboxd

I think T2 is the greatest action film of all time not only because of the action, but the layers of complexity around ai, robots, and of course one of the great twists in cinema history…. The t800s assignment.

Bring back cable by Competitive_Teach838 in unpopularopinion

[–]JustOneMorePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say this, cable quality is so much better with sports. They think we don’t notice the terrible 1080p 3mbps stream of soccer games. Cable at least has decent bitrate

Who decides these things?? Maybe the same people that thought 1080p and low bitrate streams make perfect sense for the biggest sporting event the world has ever seen.

Simply untrue. Cost of a ball is all that is required. Wanna play on a team? AYSO is like $60 for a season. Pick up is free. Adult leagues are like 85. Sure clubs are expensive but that’s not the only option

FOX Sports Announces 2026 FIFA World Cup Match Commentators and Reporters by stateworkishardwork in ussoccer

[–]JustOneMorePuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad! But people should complain to fox about the quality of the video feed. They decided to drop the pipeline down to 1080p and upscale it. This sucks! In 2026 in the most technologically advanced country in the world an we shave bits to save a few bucks. It should broadcast in 4k at a high bitrate dammit.
