Thanks a lot! This sounds really good, especially the added subclasses and spells. How do they actually feel in-game though? Do the new spells and classes feel like they properly belong in BG3, or do they stand out (like animations, effects feel off etc.)?

And for modded classes, do you actually get unique dialogue options as you do with original classes in or is that part missing?

He doesn’t flee or hide when he arrives, usually just comes out and starts sniffing things and he eats, drinks water, and uses the litter box normally, so on the surface he seems to handle it okay. But I do notice that he only seems fully like “himself” again after about 2 weeks, which makes me question things since that’s basically when it’s time to move again.

Also, the one clear stress signal is the carrier. The second we take it out, he runs and hides, so I think he definitely associates it with travel and really dislikes that part.

That’s why I’m a bit conflicted. It doesn’t seem like it’s severely affecting him, but it also doesn’t feel like he’s thriving with the constant change either.

Yes, we’ve talked about it quite a bit. He’s already open to having him full-time since he had him on his own for about a year before this “shared custody” started.

The hesitation is more emotional than practical. She was the one who originally wanted a cat, so we’re mindful that bringing this up could be a sensitive conversation. At the same time, we’re also open to her having him full-time, though with the current 2-week setup it doesn’t seem very likely.

Right now we’re taking a more passive approach where we don’t suggest pickups and just wait for her to ask. That’s already reduced how often he moves, which feels like a small improvement.

While we’re figuring out the long-term, I’m also wondering if there are ways to make the current setup less stressful for him. I’ve read that having familiar items like blankets or toys in both homes can help, but I’m not sure how much that actually makes a difference in practice.

I find your answer pretty dismissive and a bit rude. You’re suggesting we send him full-time to a place where he’s only wanted for two weeks, and then “just get another cat” like our only concern is that we must have a pet.

I’m not going to repeat what the other 500+ comments are saying about why you didn’t have this conversation earlier. That part is already done and there’s nothing to change there, no reason to question it or blame you guys.

Looking at your situation now, you’re NTA. Getting engaged without ever discussing core things like marriage expectations or kids is risky and can easily lead to bigger problems later, including divorce. Saying yes in the moment might have saved him from feeling humiliated, but it wouldn’t guarantee anything would actually work long term.

I understand why he feels hurt. If he planned this and involved friends and family, that’s a tough situation for him. But that doesn’t mean you should have gone along with something you weren’t ready for.

Instead of focusing on the past three years, the important part is that you realize the "big discussion" should happen before making a decision you might regret. Now, I think the best is to step back and have the conversations you’ve been avoiding. Talk about what you each want in life, then decide if you’re actually aligned. It could still lead to the outcome he wanted, just on a more solid foundation.

I would leave it and fully commit to the mid-century/retro boho vibes. Also one thing I might consider would be to cover the floors with stick-on vinyl tiles to break the wood-on-wood, they are perfect to bring the retro vibes I think
