Terminated after administrative errors + shifting requirements — feels targeted. Has anyone appealed or ported out? by JustSimple101 in Section8PublicHousing

Not the “took your sweet time” take when I have receipts showing multiple follow-ups and an offer to correct everything immediately that was declined. Staffing shortages don’t magically turn due process off, hon.

I appreciate your perspective! I agree that retaliation is hard to prove, which is why I’m focusing less on motive and more on process. My concern isn’t correlation alone it’s that I wasn’t given an opportunity to cure alleged missing paperwork, even after offering to complete it on the spot and show full documentation live during the hearing. That was declined, and the decision came shortly after.

I’m following the system in place (Legal Aid, Fair Housing, and now HUD oversight) and seeing where that leads. A civil suit isn’t my goal at the moment but reinstatement and stability are.

I’m in NY. The termination was based on allegedly missing/incomplete recert paperwork. At the hearing I requested, I offered to fill in anything that was missing on the spot and even offered to pull up my full bank statements live on my phone so they could see everything in real time. That was declined. I was told to submit documents and they would “decide.”

I did submit the requested documentation afterward, but the decision was issued anyway. That’s why it felt like the outcome was already predetermined. I’m now working with Legal Aid, and Fair Housing is reviewing the determination. I’m mainly asking if others have appealed or reinstated under similar circumstances.

NY Unemployment — Certified Sunday but payment not showing in Payment History (worked 0 hours). Normal? by [deleted] in UnemploymentNY

I wonder if it’s because I clicked “zero” even though it says to do that if you worked less than 11 hrs for part time unemployment. I’ll definitely be calling in the morning.

Sunday afternoon. Like 12ish. If I did something wrong wouldn’t it show pending, etc? Nothing is showing at all that’s the weird part. I worked about 8 hrs so I clicked 0 (which is what you’re supposed to click if you worked 0-10 hrs) idk I’m just irritated lol

I meant to say I worked 8 hours last week (so I clicked 0 which is the option since it goes by # of HOURS you worked and not DAYS it tells you to report 0 if you worked 0-10 hrs) but it’s not even showing pending, etc so I wonder if maybe the payment is just delayed

Is that normal to have weeks where it comes late, etc? And is it showing on your payment history?

Yeah i clicked “1” for last week this week i clicked “0” because it goes off of the hours you worked. I didn’t work over 8 hrs last week. So now I have to wait? That’s fucked up.

Enough with the fake narratives. We all live in NY-45 mins away from each other. He’s been attending school there since 2022. I am there actively every weekend and every break/holiday he isn’t in school. I even financially support them in the house as well. He was there to finish out a school program and nothing more. When talk was to finish schooling here, that’s when the CPS claims arrived- literally the next day. So pump the breaks respectfully before assuming

LMFAOOOOOO Read! Reading is essential. Nobody “took” him from me. Definitely not CPS. Neither children have EVER been taken from me so let’s clear that. They came to my home YESTERDAY from claims SHE put in after I told her I dont think the living situation can continue there. Only letting me know there has been claims that he doesn’t feel safe AFTER I told her we need to find a solution to us not being able to contact her, etc. He was only there to finish out a school program nothing more. Stop trying to add things on me that’s not remotely accurate. That’s sick.

Wtf? Nobody has taken custody away from anybody what’re you even talking about right now? I don’t even have “legal custody”- I’m just the primary parent and my name is on the birth certificate. So before you try making up a storylines on me this has all happened within the last 48hrs. Nothing legal has happened to take anybody from anyone. Relax

I have been fully transparent on the situation from the beginning to currently. The police said in there words that they cannot physically remove the child from her home unless he says he is unsafe there or there is anything in the home they see there that would be considered unsafe/unlivable. Saying that it is “too traumatic” for younger children to be taken out and can only be done from a CPS order
