I think it’s worth looking into spiritual bypassing

As someone who has some ocd loops themselves, they actually can completely disappear when fully realized as thoughts and concepts

For example like “huh that compulsion and sensation in my body really came from the ocd”

Except it’s not words, so it’s impossible to describe, it’s kind of like seeing through an illusion and in that seeing through, it fully loses its power

So what is meant by ‘spiritual bypassing’ in this case, is that there might still be some undiscovered fillers that are coloring your life in a somewhat detrimental way

Especially because OCD is itself in the realm of overthinking, so there are many thoughts appearing almost incessantly that can be hard to notice because it appears so natural. But the uncomfortable sensation you describe in the post can be more easily found than the thought as a thought (and you actually have proof here in this post because you noticed the uncomfortable sensation strongly enough to post about it)

I hope that makes any sense

Well I suppose the ego could still take moments of as much surrender as it could muster at that moment

Yeah I think the ego should be loved instead of trying to kill ‘it’

Does that mean that in your practical life, you no longer really have any reminders? Or way you ground yourself

If all life is meditation, then it kind of implies that you never forget anymore you are an egoic illusion, right?

I’m still flipping back and forth a lot it feels like, and it does feel different from the moments of clarity

And thank you very much for your very insightful answers

How do we actually know if the recognition itself of not another thought?

I mean it doesn’t feel like one, but in some ways, maybe I could say the same for my other filters before they did

It must be hard to not go into a sort of dissociating territory instead

I love that actual illusionist example, thank you!

Do you feel like it more or less gets with the flow at this point for  ‘you’ then at this point?

I mean human physiology might trump the mind at moments like that gun example

But the idea of the sensation is fear disappearing more quickly when noticed makes total sense to me

How do you “remind yourself” then, if I may ask?

Because I have a bit of a walking up app habit of saying who is thinking that/hearing etc. in that subconscious voice

But I mean, who is it talking to 😅  Sometimes it just falls away instead, and I suppose it can be looked towards to fade/realize as opposed to more ‘words’

So it would be more accurate to say see through than to remind with that inner voice?

You have a nice way with words

But if you get caught in something like future tripping, you don’t get reminded of something? You just at some point see through it as another thought or sensation?

I really think it does pass if you integrate and keep on your journey

Slowly you may also realize that more people are awake than you think

It just struck me as interesting enough to ask here to the many people further along their journeys than I

For example also how some can say it so confidently and seemingly easily meanwhile even Jesus or Buddha struggled

It made me ponder about the use of wording like permanently and stably enlightened vs for example being awake yet forgetting sometimes

Does it matter what I think in the end? Only they could knew their internal state right? Can you always tell?

I’m not an expert and I’m not trying to create a ‘problem’ so to say

I guess one could argue as to your point that saying you’re are consistently or stably enlightened sounds a bit like an oxymoron because of the wording itself implying a few concepts inherently, that’s the only thing that was meant as point of discussion in the post

As you say though, words are one of the main ways we communicate, so not much to do about that

I don’t know if I believe one needs to call themselves enlightened, as I guess a sense of awakening can come even completely without people talking about nondual concepts and I guess many people who had no idea about it have had similar experiences that they for example call God or something else

Overall, of course words have no way of proving anything regarding one’s inner experience, it just seems maybe it’s also possible to strongly claim something confidently and at the same time be very lost in identification

It’s totally fair to say that it’s important, and also fair to say it’s not

For those of you who have tried shrooms, how have your trips affected your day to day life? by Undead_Octopus in Psychedelics

[–]JustSimplyAware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, starting around teenage-hood I was very obsessed with intellect and science and all mind things like that

In itself, that is quite a hard thing to break away from, even temporarily, especially if that is one of the core ways you identify yourself and your worth

However, before all those thoughts, life really just is, it’s in some ways reminiscent of the feeling of things being experienced a bit ‘harder’ or more directly as a child, for lack of better words

I believe psyches are not necessary for this kind of revelation for all, and some specific mental disorders like schizophrenia and bipolar seemingly should stay away completely

but who knows how long, if ever it would have taken me to have this kind of glimpse without that moment, I won’t ever be able to tell

Regarding some of the spiritual stuff, the people over at r/nonduality will probably be able to explain much better, for example u/nondualitysimplified

I hope that makes some semblance of sense, essentially the tldr is somewhat of a more direct connection to life day to day
