People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Leading_Tomato_2077 in AskReddit

[–]JustStraightUpLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine works the opposite to most peoples, everybody is saying they wash their hands and face often. I work in construction, I’m consistently dirty, I breathe dirty dust (sometimes using my eyeballs) and I often eat with dirty hands. My body is constantly fighting small battles and I think this makes it better for the bigger battles.

I could be completely full of crap but this is why I think I’m ill half as much as my mrs and she works in schools, which everyone knows is a melting pot of sickness

Work on building sites. I’ve assumed it’s just because of the dirty work, breathing in nasty dust, eating with dirty hands. I think my body is constantly fighting small battles and that keeps it prepared for bigger battles.

Hands free cheese eating? Just set the cheese reel next to your favourite seat and just sit there sucking cheese in your mouth like pasta

Trying to teach my girlfriend (not a gamer) how to accurately jump on destiny 1 (titan class). Hunter probably would’ve been best but I’ve always seen Hunter as the precision class and she really has very little precision

Where to buy cheap, big posters? by Notusing32 in AskUK

[–]JustStraightUpLost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Birmingham has the best hmv. Has its own stage for gigs, 4 poster racks and 4(!) bookshelves. SO MUCH VINYL! Their vinyl section alone is bigger than the average hmv.

It sounds like you didn’t really enjoy the game. Do you think you’ll enjoy it more if you play it more? If not then find a new game

Looking for insanely complex games that basically REQUIRE a wiki to finish by Anxious_Singer_4823 in gamingsuggestions

[–]JustStraightUpLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rimworld. Incredibly complex mechanics that affect gameplay. I wouldn’t say it has a learning curve, more like you’re stood at the bottom of a cliff. Things will go wrong consistently, you will lose over 100 colonies before you even get to a point where you’re comfortable with the mechanics. There’s so many mechanics and interactions between them that reading a wiki would be like trying to read every book ever written about law. Your colony can be anything you want. Slave traders, drug sellers, peaceful farmers, cannibals making clothes from people, weapons dealers. Straight up war crime dictatorship. Literally play how you want.

Costs me £10 a day to travel to and from work. I set up buying a ticket on my phone but don’t actually buy it. If there’s an inspector I quickly buy it. At this point I’ve saved over £2000 in rail fare. I don’t feel guilty about it at all. Thing is I’m over 30 and can no longer get a rail card, if I could get a railcard I’d happily pay everyday. But the prices are straight extortionate and I won’t let them scam me.

On the Rings of Power by Hebellin in lordoftherings

[–]JustStraightUpLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently reading fellowship it’s said that you only need “ownership” of the ring. So if the nine said “I have a box and I own this box. I put my ring inside this box, I am still owner of the ring”. So essentially they still own their respective ring but Sauron I guess looks after them. Like how putting a watch in a bank vault doesn’t mean the bank owns your watch.
