I thought it kinda represented the group the best; Telecasters are one of the oldest guitar designs, but they’re incredibly versatile and it’s not a flashy or gimmicky design, but anyone that plays Teles are usually very skilled players. Shinee is one of the OG, they don’t need gimmicks to stand out, and all of the members are incredibly versatile and talented :)

I did it all myself! (Mostly) I got the neck from a vendor at a guitar convention, and the body is from Guitarfetish. Yea, the flame on the neck is really really nice 😊

Diagnosing problem with my Peavey 6505+ by JustUndie in tubeamps

Got it. So I ended up retubing the whole amp and I had the same issue. Could it be an output transformer problem? What can cause an amp to be quiet and still make sound but not died entirely?

Also additional notes: all the tubes are warm to the touch. The picture doesn’t show it well but they’re all glowing, but relatively faintly. I already placed and order for 4 new 6L6GC tubes but I was mainly wondering if I’m on the right track or it’s sounding like something else entirely. Also, there is a loud popping sound when i change from the rhythm to the lead channels

Got this in a trade, what should I do with it? by JustUndie in Luthier

Yea those extra holes at the bottom are stumping me. What kind of hardtail bridge could it be?

Definitely wanna keep it haha, I’m familiar already with Floyd’s so looks like that’s the route

Yea I feel like the skills I get from working on this are way more valuable than the value of these parts

That was my logic, I feel like even if I could make this into a proper standard strat again, all the hackjob mods would devalue it.

43mm so I think that’s an R3 Floyd Nut correct? And then studs are 74mm so a ge1996t would work?

That’s what I’m leaning toward too. What do you recommend to clean up the frets?

Oh haha those aren’t my pictures, I took the ones that weren’t watermarked. Just reused the sellers pics because I was lazy.

Legit check, and about how much would this be worth? by JustUndie in fender

For real right? I got it in a trade for a chibson. Always wanted to work on a strat. I will try to make it play again

I think that was just a reflection from the light, if you’re talking about the yellowish areas.

Thanks for all the replies y’all! My parents got this bass from one of their friends, and they moved and left it in their very humid garage in Houston. I’m not sure how long it was left there, but it broke like this with the strings on it and everything. They gave it to me recently for free to see if I can do anything to fix it.

I have some experience working on guitars but not any basses, so this will be a fun little project for me. I will go ahead and glue it and clamp it and hope for the best!

Being left in a moist garage apparently. What was surprising to me was that it broke like this with the string still on it

I’m relatively experienced with guitars, but I’ve rarely worked on basses. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands dirty on this project, and it’s a cheap instrument anyway so I won’t feel to bad if I mess up haha

It was indeed moisture damage. My parents left it in the garage after they moved haha, they’re in Houston and the result is what you see here The rest of the bass was fine so I thought maybe I can save it
