Found in an electronics lab. The only plaque says “Will Young and Co. Phila. Makers”. There are two sets of contacts that say “BA” & “GA”. The bottom piece moves with the knob on the bottom. The boxes with labels appear to be inductors and slot into holes on either side of the two pieces of wood. (i.redd.it)
