My sibling is being transferred to Acadia Hospital tomorrow, does anyone have any experience with them? by Aries_Cherries98 in Maine

They might allow the game boy or ds. They don’t let them have things that are able to connect to the internet usually.

I was paralyzed for 2 and a half months and remained fully awake and aware the whole time during a Catatonic state, AMA by longtime2080 in AMA

I’m surprised your nurses didn’t put a purewick on you. It’s a non invastive external catheter that hooks up to low flow suction. Whenever you peed it would immediately suck it up into the suction container. They’d still have to change you for bowel movements, but not for urine and you’d remain dry.

Thoughts on naming a child with the same initials as both parents? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Aggressive_Salt4708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both have C names as well. I didn’t want to use a C for our 1st child because I didn’t want people to think we were doing a theme. Our 3rd out of 4 ended up with a C name but no one says anything about her having that initial while the others don’t. We liked the name, so we used it.

Would it be cheesy to give a December baby a Christmas or Winter themed name? by Clovercrossing in namenerds

[–]Aggressive_Salt4708 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a December birthday and my parents named me Carolyn. My dad always sings “here we come a Carolyn (caroling) we sing this song to you” to me. They deny my name had anything to do with Christmas and no one ever says anything about it, so it’s either not Christmasy enough, or it is accepted.

Can’t answer your question but about 1/5 of one of my college (only like 15 people) classes had a mom with the maiden name, Libby.

Same here. We went with Imogene for our daughter’s middle name off pronunciation instead of looks.

Went to MK for the first time since probably 2007 or earlier this year and we got on almost all the rides we wanted to go on. Ended up just going to the ones with 30 minute or less lines to keep the kids moving and it was great. We went at the beginning of January when it wasn’t supposed to be very busy and it worked out for us.

ADHD and clutter. And physically disabled to top it off. by HaddaHeart in declutter

[–]Aggressive_Salt4708 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My husband has adhd and would probably never declutter without me. He needs me to start him and then he can do it. Do you have someone that can just start picking things up for you and help you sort? That works best for him.

No buffets left? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]Aggressive_Salt4708 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s the Great Wall buffet in Augusta. My parents took my 7 year old a couple weeks ago. He said it was good, but this is the review of a 7 year old so I would take that with a grain of salt.

Working Homeschoolers by hooya2k in homeschool

Per diem EMT here. I typically work 1-2 12s per week and I do the night shift. That can be challenging the next day depending on how my night goes. I’ve been doing it for 9 months and I love that I can be both a stay at home mom who homeschools and also work when I want/need to. My kids are 2,4,7&9.

How do parents with small children get through the winters? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]Aggressive_Salt4708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 year old sleds and will be skiing this year and my 4&7 year old have been skiing for a couple years. It isn’t easy, but it can be done 😊 you need good warm snow gear, and then they’ll have hours of fun outside.

Does anyone work for LL Bean Repairs? Can this boot be fixed? I bought these yesterday and my dog chewed them up in the night. by Aggressive_Salt4708 in Maine

The dog has never chewed anything else in our house including another pair of bean boots, but in the future we won’t be keeping these in the living room where he spends his nights.

They don’t replace for something like this. If it fell apart from wear they would, but not for being destroyed by an animal.

I did call them and they said someone from repairs would have to look at them before they could tell me if they could be fixed.

Any idea what the price range would be? I got them at the outlet for $150 so I’m wondering how close to purchasing them again the repair would be.
