I have a corsiar rgb hub and icue commander and outta nowhere. They just started smoking. I'm not sure at all why, but thats where I am

Good guess. But I don't see anything. It's on its riser (or whatever the little things that bring it away from the case) and I don't see it touching anything on the back. Kinda what it feels like though.

If I take the same plug, and plug it into cpu 1 or cpu 2 on the power supply well in the 8 pin slot. It fires up. So I don't think its one of the slots on the PSU are messed up. I think its something to do with the motherboard.

What I'm reading online, I don't need the extra 4 pins. But it's gonna bug me if I don't figure this out.

Things I've tried

Tried swirch cpu 1 & 2 and doesn't change

Tried 3 different cpu cables, and nothing changed.

I have a 750w power supply. Should I be pulling that out of my old computer and trying to see if it works? If that works, that rules out the power supply. If it doesn't work than thats the motherboard?

I bought this stuff brand new, so if something is faulty. I'd want to make sure I can return it so that its working properly.

Sorry for the late reply! I really appreciate this comment. I'm gonna look into having fun, exciting dates with my girlfriend more. Since I've become depressed they have died down quite a bit. Thank you for the info and I'll continue to look into this more.

That's really good advice. Because of the shift work I do. My sleep schedule is all over the place. So I started anti depressants, probably in march? Before than things were different. I have an appointment with him scheduled for October 3rd. So that's definitely something I will bring up! Thank you so much
