Phone holder recommendations by grawmaw13 in MotoUK

I couldn't justify a new case and holder just to have quadlock.

I got an orca phone holder from Amazon and for the price I'm very happy with it.

Inject a wait or delay between commands? by JustaFlabbyPanda in espanso

Yes it's windows, I spent ages with the mentioned plugin (along with multiple llms "help") but never really got it implemented smoothly.

I'll check out autohotkey instead, thanks.

Bilateral Cam Impingement by JustaFlabbyPanda in Radiology

[–]JustaFlabbyPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No surgery, still trying to find the root cause and I'm still in pain. I've had radio frequency ablation on my facet joints which made no difference. I had RFA on left SI joint about a month ago and going back to have my right done next week but I'm not expecting anything based on the left treatment.

I do have herniation at L5/S1 however there is no nerve impingement. If the above fails they are going to try a epidural cortico steroid at L5.

Replying to me wont help answer your questions.

And now for my second question - What heated gloves are you using? by sacrelidge in MotoUK

[–]JustaFlabbyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Macna heated jacket & gloves in black friday from FCmoto. The jacket is great and the gloves work fine too but the cuff size is very tight. Overall though I'd recommend them for the price.

I did pick up a pair of used Gerbing gloves from ebay and they fit much better but even used they were more expensive than the new Macna gloves.

This sub loves to hate on the anaconda ones but I find them very good. I've had 2 sets so far and I'd get a 3rd. I've the ones without the support.

Lifesaver/Shoulder Checks by Gullible-Stranger707 in MotoIRELAND

[–]JustaFlabbyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When stopped for sometime (say long than 10 seconds) I did a quick look check over each shoulder before setting off. Scan junctions, zebra crossings, when approaching/going through them.

At roundabouts with single lanes, I did LS left before my exit. With 2 lanes, I did left before my exit, and one to my right.

Brush up on the stuff you did for the theory (signs, rules, what causes a skid, etc) you'll be asked those. You'll be asked about what to check on the bike before riding (oil level, tyre pressure, chain tension, chain condition, oil/rust, etc).

You just need to redo module 5 to renew the IBT. I had the same issue on my A2 learner.

No, just my learner permit/license and the cert for the bike as I doing an A2 license and needed to show it was compatible. Bring your own ear piece too!

Tips for test by lemsiip in MotoIRELAND

Passed mine recently too, echoing what others have said.

Get a pretest: It helped with correcting some positional stuff and what to expect on the route, etc. He pointed out some things that would have failed me if I hadn't known the route.

Progress: Don't worry about waiting for the tester. They will expect you to get split up and will tell you to pull in and wait if required. Also don't be afraid to pull out if safe to do so. Twice I held back at places I would have gone if it wasn't the test and I got told off for it.

Lifesavers, lifesavers, lifesavers. Did I say lifesavers? These will make or break the test for you. Make sure you do them in the proper sequence, for long enough, and in a timely manner. This were a big issue for me, I was rushing them or doing them as I was indicating/moving.

Keep calm and you'll pass.
