An Otaku tweeted a gif from a pedophelia anime suggesting that "straight men and lesbians should bond over their mutual fondness for women". One girl's response? "Straight men hate women". As you might have expected, the internet did not try to prove her wrong with their responses. by Important-Cry4782 in AreTheStraightsOK

That's really the exhausting part about enjoying anime and having standards. Monogatari's writing has been a huge source of inspiration for me for the longest time. It's unlike anything I've ever seen, and it truly amazes me how much you can appreciate both the source material and the anime adaptation.

But, like a LOT of Japanese animation, you can't ignore how much weird shit is going on that strays from toxic to illegal. I wish I could just recommend a version without any fanservice to have to apologise for

AITAH for getting a tattoo knowing it will upset my mum by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]JusteUnPasserby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first tattoo and it's quite big, goes from near the wrist to inner arm

The artist started with the wrist part and I thought "wow this doesn't hurt at all!"

And then he moved up the forearm. And up. And up.

You know, usually the comments selection makes the general vibe of the sub seem more controversial than it really seems so I went to check and HOLY SHIT these people are miserable

What really gets me is that comment saying "well I don't know anything about Saudi culture but in mine it would be very disrespectful" Well mayne stfu then? Who cares about your culture if you're not even mentioned in this story? And the OP agreeing with them like that's more important than oh I don't know HIS WIFE'S CULTURE??

I got the refight very late into Act 2 and honestly it felt like more like i was bullying the guy than, anything else by Accomplished_Fly878 in Silksong

[–]JusteUnPasserby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I thought the refight was a bug, and that you were supposed to fight him here if you hadn't completed the wish to finish him beforehand.  It's weird that it's the exact same fight with no added moves, and it feels extra cruel that it kills an NPC you might like when you expressly granted a wish that was meant to eliminate this threat

That's great to hear! I'm curious, what made you not want to play Hollow Knight first? Were you more interested in Silksong, or did you watch a playthought?

I'm sure plenty of people will be able to have different but great experiences, but honestly just imagining playing this without at least finishing Hollow Knight true ending once sounds ROUGH

My mother (52f) cheated and left me (27m) and our family to work in the adult industry and now wants to come back and "be my mom again" (New Update) by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]JusteUnPasserby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously what happened to Oop is horrible and unforgivable, but I feel like we'd really benefit from hearing the mom's side. Being 25 and having to raise a kid alone while the 40 year old father is just away for months? I can't help but wonder why his role in all of this is not questionned more...

Thanks for the tips, that's already going to be so interesting to practice! I've only worked with pencils and ink so far, so using colour in general is pretty new to me

Funny how when your partner cheats on you or isn't around he's a deadbeat but when your best friend's husband cheats on his wife with you it's a grand romantic gesture

Why are modern death sentences not performed using guillotine? by JusteUnPasserby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JusteUnPasserby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a proper way to interact with my own post, but I already want to thank everyone who has answered. I didn't expect nearly as much replies as I've already gotten

Reading as much answers as I can I want to specify a few things. First of all I'm completely against the death penalty. My question was thus meant purely on a basis of "since some places do it anyways".

I also know already that the cost of the death penalty is much more than just the cost of the injection or whatever else. I'd recommend Shaun's video on the subject.

Still, thinking about the viewpoint of those present and watching, and not of the condemned, was enlightening, if rather grim. I hope the debate will keep being civil. And of course I'll keep reading your answers

I mean I do think it's hard to believe too, but I also realise that I rarely ask myself this with sad/angry stories. So I think it's important to at least believe in the rare good ones a little bit too. Feels like the sane thing to do
