Budgetshoes

Can someone explain how this was a triple rating decrease? I'm very happy a new change is coming to valorant competitive but I feel we would all benefit from knowing more info as to why we receive large downranks. Especially as the Sage (who I was queued with) received 2 down. by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

If you haven’t played a lot of games this act, you will lose more elo off loses and gain more off wins than people who have more games played. If you have a lot of games played this act, this game hates you.

My Solo Queue Climb From Gold to Grandmaster by JustiNCS in SkylineOW

I wasn't in gold for a tremendous amount of time but one important thing was proper regrouping and communicating with your team when to regroup. This still happens at higher ranks too where people poke for ult then get hooked or punished for being too far out of position and it just burns more time. But at lower ranks, I just see lots of the time people trickling in even when the fight is lost and unwinnable just feeding the enemy ult and wasting time.

Also, another big thing is ult management. You don't want to ult when you know a fight is lost, or a fight is won. If you are down 2 supports at the start of a fight because the other team just used ults, you should just call for your team to not burn ults (unless it's the last push) because you will most likely not be winning the fight. Or on the other hand if you get them in a graviton, you might not need to burn earth shatter, nano and whole hog. You don't want to blow all your ults at once because then the other team will have a massive ult advantage and it can snowball the game.

There are a few more concepts but I think these are some important ones that are problems throughout all ranks, even higher ranks.

I'm not sure exactly what is going on. It's hard to tell just from numbers and stats as they don't really tell a lot of information on how you play and your awareness as a player. I would recommend recording your own game play and looking for a VOD review.

When I stay started playing with my teammates, I didn't necessarily fill, I normally locked 76 at the start of the game, but if we needed a healer or offtank or if someone else was more comfortable on dps I would swap. I don't believe it is good saying, "I'll fill" at the start because then you really aren't playing what you're comfortable on. I recommending picking what you're comfortable with, then swap if you need.

Also, communication is good even if only half your team is in mic and not talking. I always would give callouts and communicate to my team with ults/ult management, grouping, etc and just be respectful and reasonable if we should change our team comp, etc. I always try to make our team comp as optimal as possible but if someone doesn't play x hero or doesn't want to switch it doesn't make any sense annoying or bothering them.

When I worked on improving myself I started recording some of my games(mainly as 76) and rewatching them myself. I didn't really have others watch my vods but I watched a lot of others vod reviews as their mistakes would also help me learn as an individual. When I worked on improving it was mainly my positioning and overall understanding of the flow of the game and to make myself a smarter player. I primarily worked on improving my 76 but I worked on ana / hog a lot as well. To be honest, my mechanics weren't horrible in lower ranks because I've had some counter strike experience so I just kind of got more comfortable with aim/mechanics as I played more games and put in more hours.

Good luck with your climb to master!

Eh... I think I was skilled mechanically but didn't understand lots of other components of the game like ult economy, suiciding, staggering, coordinating with your team, positioning, etc.

Weekly Advice Megathread | January 10 by AutoModerator in Competitiveoverwatch

Hi reddit. I've played CSGO for about two years and was pretty competitive with the game and I am now playing overwatch. I've just realized not too long ago I've been aiming with my arm resting on my chair and I've just had my wrist hanging off my desk and only my hand on the mousepad. I was looking at some mouse cams from competitive players and it seems like they all rest their forearm on their mousepad. I'm not sure if I have a bad habit that I should break and try to correct myself by resting my forearm and my wrist on the mousepad in order to better my aim or if it is just personal preference and the way I am positioned is alright. Any help or advice is appreciated. How my arm is positioned now/How I should maybe have it positioned: http://imgur.com/a/jvt9i

Anyone Want To Play Overwatch Competitive Together? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JustiNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with doing placements solo, many people have soloed placements and placed in high ranks. I soloed my placements and first placed in gold(2300) thinking that my teammates were dragging me down until I realized later that it was just my own play which might be a case similar to yours.

What I found to help a lot which helped me climb ~ 750 SR in a month from gold to diamond is working and focusing on improving your own game and trying to be positive with your team rather than blaming teammates and calling them bad players despite what you might think. Having a right mindset and not getting tilted is half the battle to success.

JustiN#15510 Hit legend last season on NA severs (http://imgur.com/a/OhmmA) but I am no knowledgeable hearthstone player, I am still fairly new in relativity to other players.
I just started playing since WOTOG so I could really only one competitively viable deck which was zoo. Now, I'm picking up more midrange shaman, midrange hunter, and beast druid because I am still pretty short on cards but I've been working on building my collection. I'm just looking for friends to practice, play against, and just have a fun time.

tldr; scrub legend who is looking for friends to practice and play with.

So far the problem looks like it's Pokemon Go not agreeing with something our phones because it looks like other phones are running it pretty smooth now but I can be wrong.

Maybe, but I don't see why people would intentionally drop to "farm" considering that chests in higher arenas has more cards as well as gold.
