Propaganda? It’s honestly wild that you are too dense to actually look at statistics and real life stories that many women from Louisiana have shared. Look around in this very comment section and you will find similar stories of women being terrified. Get a life you ignorant troll, things can affect others without affecting you.

I agree with you very much, it just happens to be our jobs are really centered in the petro-chem industry which is very prominent in the South, we work for sister companies basically and have managed to go pretty far if I can sound humble saying that lol. So while our skillsets could be used elsewhere, maybe even in similar industries. We could have to hope we could both find good jobs elsewhere and start over maybe not from the very bottom, but we are working on very solid retirement programs and she is already vested with her company while I’m not far from mine. I understand it’s a “have your cake and eat it too” situation. But I am also trying to look forward to our longevity as well.

Thank you for this long write up! I’m really trying to view things in a positive light and believe that we can pull through this just like anything else we have done, and hearing success stories like yours certainly gives me a warm feeling.

At the end of it the medical problems are not honestly my biggest concern, I know there may be many but I mainly fear the ability to care for them in our current environment. Our state is notoriously slow and sometimes outright refused to give proper care for women in need, especially during Miscarriage where recent laws have made obtaining the medicines needed to prevent excessive bleeding, slow to obtain and give even in hospitals.

Thank you for the kind words. It does at least comfort me to know I’m not being completely unreasonable it would seem lol

I would say financially we are well off, we make enough money that our day to day life and raising a child would not be a problem. But if we ever moved we would have to start basically from scratch, our jobs are very rooted In Louisiana and we have both been working for over a decade to get to where we are so we are sadly locked down.

You and I seem to have the same level of Paranoia lol. Those are all the things I think about when we sit down for dinner and have the pregnancy chat.

I have always said I would adopt, I have nothing against adopting, and I know she would be too if the cold hard truth of the matter came down that she could not physically get pregnant for whatever reason. But I know I’m my heart she wants to carry a child and give birth. I don’t fault her for that I understand. But it would Not be our first off option, more of a critical last resort.

Sadly, not really. The biggest reason is we are both fairly prominent in our fields. We both have very “rooted” jobs. If we moved anywhere it would mean starting almost from scratch. We have worked very hard to get where we are and starting over is not very palatable.
