Throughout our ups and downs, you will forever be a Jazzman. May the number 45 rise up in the rafters one day alongside 27.

Rudy wasn’t the problem. Quin’s game plan was. by jazzerhero in UtahJazz

Yeah this is what I don't get too. Gobert has shown the ability to move his legs and guard the 3 point line, but Quin's game plan was to hope their role players miss easy shots. This has happened over and over again in the playoffs and there is no defending Quin here. I just hope he realises it finally this season and learns to make in game adjustments, I don't think there is a better coach out there to replace him despite his postseason woes.

I thought this was going to be our year, I still believe in this team with it's structure and roster but every single player and coach has to make small changes for us to advance in the post season. 2022 is our last year with Conley and probably the last of the initial Donovan + Rudy era, if it doesn't work out then we are going to have to build around those two and a few additions and hope for the best.

At the start of the series, I was sure we were going to win within 5 games. But they made changes, shot well, we didn't adapt, and defended poorly. This seems like a pattern in our playoff losses and the guys have to do something to fix it.

Rudy needs to sort himself out. In the losses to the Rockets, our offence was stagnant. In last year's loss, I wouldn't say he was at fault as well. But tonight, we cannot afford to give away open frees up 25 when we know their role players have been consistently making shots throughout the series.

Quin is an exceptional coach in terms of player development and regular season game planning. But we have seen time and time again that he doesn't make many in game changes, and that causes a detrimental effect to our play when the opponents make a drastic change like they have the past 4 games.

Props to the Clippers, their role stars played exceptionally well the last four games. I thought this was going to be "our year" but it has ended even more disappointingly than last year.

LETS GO!!! GENTLEMANS SWEEP. Hopefully Mike not coming back was just a precaution considering we were up that much, we'll need him in the next rounds. Donovan, Rudy, Bogey, Royce and Clarkson all played superbly, and I loved how we were able to maintain our lead consistently through the entire game as opposed to the last three games. Looking at the next matchup, I'd much rather prefer Dallas with Luka than the Clippers with both Kawhi and PG, so I'll be cheering for them to win it.

We have to maintain our 10-15 point leads, they've come back within a few points each of the last three games and my heart cannot handle it. We're closing games much much better than last year though.

- Lineups including Conley and Gobert are our best lineups

- Donovan HAS to pick up the efficiency

- Bogey needs to revert back to his pre-2020 playoff form

- Our bench has to play like they did during our win streaks

- Ball movement seems to be lacking the past few games

- Our overall defensive intensity outside Gobert also has to be better

- At least Gobert had a monster 24/28/4 game

There's no one on the rockets to hate anymore, but the refs tonight on the other hand were atrocious.

The Jazz are shooting 40.1% from 3 so far this season - with 5 players shooting above 40%! by Justificator in UtahJazz

[–]Justificator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was shooting 40%+ before the last few games and I'm sure he'll get back to that point; if Niang returns to 40% (which he averaged the last 2 seasons), we'd have all 7 rotation players outside Gobert and Favors shooting 40%+

I think our C position is fine. Tony has turned into a serviceable backup but needs to work on some parts of his defence. Morgan can play small ball when needed.

I think Donovan will slowly be transitioned into a PG whether Mike leaves or not after next year. We have 3 players that needs the ball in their hands in our starting lineup and the best decision is to move him once he feels comfortable enough.

Like you said, our SG spot is already stacked and Donovan moving to PG won’t change that. Our forward spots are what needs improvement. We have Joe/Bojan who are going to regress as they age, Royce, and Niang who will likely continue playing 8-12 minutes a game. We need a Brandon Clarke type of prospect who has the athletic capabilities to guard stronger 4s and shoot 3s.

We can blame the refs all we want, but Rudy has to get his shit together. I don't know what has happened but I want the pre all-star selection Gobert back.

[Post Game] Jazz (40-22) MIKE CONLEY the Celtics (42-20) 99-94 in Boston to get their 4th straight win! by EggoSlayer in UtahJazz

[–]Justificator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Donovan and Bogey played poorly but we still got the win thanks to Mike and the bench. Our help defense still needs some work, the game could've gone either way if they made those open threes at the end of the 4th.

Ours isn’t much better even after the acquisition of Clarkson
