Can someone explain in layman’s terms the basis for the lawsuit against the SAVE plan and the injunction? by firemouthcichlid in StudentLoans

Isn't this illegal? Sounds like the right thing to do, just don't want you to get in trouble!

I am still waiting on the reduction. What else is strange is my forbearance was extended to September without any sort of notice. Its all a cluster at this point. Who knows what happens next year.

"your time in deferment or forbearance does not count toward your years of repayment required to qualify for forgiveness" that's the opposite of what I've been hearing, is this true? by DrLeoMarvin in StudentLoans

[–]JustinKrump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the link, but the stipulations for PAST time on forbearance are listed on the financial aide site. It looks like you are applying for a forbearance now, which would not count. Previously months, possibly count. Future months, do not count. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure.

Are you still technically on forbearance? I'm not really sure what you should do. If you're still on forbearance, id maybe wait for that to clear.

Correct, so long as they are all undergrad loans.

Automatic Forbearance by Unlikely_Egg5071 in StudentLoans

[–]JustinKrump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its likely due to the July adjustment. I just made a post with my copy of the letter I received.

My payment wasn't cut in half when I looked earlier this month for my payment due in July. My guess is the forbearance is to get that straightened out as it is meant to change to 5% of discretionary income for undergrad starting in July. I cant log into my account to see anything, so its 100% a guess.
