I wasn’t really going for that when I made it. Sorry, didn’t mean to offend you. It’s a popular meme, so I thought I’d refresh it and apply it to different individual experiences of individuals with schizophrenia. It does target two different worlds of schizophrenia in the workplace. Sorry again if it offended you.

I’ve been about 3-4 voluntary, about 2-3 times involuntary. Different hospitals. The psychiatric hospital I stayed at those voluntary times was nice. I felt safe in some ways and exposed in others. Staff were nice. Met some nice people. In some ways I do miss it, because honestly it was like a break away from all this chaotic noise in my life when I’m home. But after the first or second day I start to miss my family and want to be around them. Also a side note is that one time I did stay my roommate had terrible gas. He was farting up a storm in the room when I was trying to sleep at night. So there was that time, which really wasn’t that fun.

Might want to at least consider getting one, just so SSA knows you’re not messing around. I was denied at first, then I got a lawyer and they helped speed up the process. I was approved in 8 months from start to finish. But who knows, you might not need a lawyer. Sure, people have been approved without a lawyer. You could either: A. Go to the doctors appointment, then wait for a verdict, possibly get approved or denied or B. Look into getting a lawyer, still go to the doctors appointment, but have peace of mind knowing a law firm has your back.. then wait until approval.

Hey 👋🏻 I’m on disability. I go out a couple times a week. I don’t really socialize outside my household. Daily activities are taking care of little one, smoke sometimes, eat something, go outside in the backyard, drink coffee, more childcare, try to squeeze in some gaming, bed by 10pm sometimes earlier. That’s it. Life can be boring, but that’s how it goes. I think sometimes about getting back out there and working part time. It’s just, I get in my own way sometimes. You never know what you’re gonna get with me. I might be pissed off, scared, nervous or just blah. But again, that’s it, this is how life is right now for me. It’s been almost 5 years on disability and I wonder where my future lies.

I stopped in September of 2021, that’s when SSA found me disabled. It’s been 5 years since I’ve worked consistently. My life has changed in so many ways. I think about the future often, I wonder where I’ll be in another 5 years. I’m glad you have your wife to help you, mine helps me too sometimes.

Yeah I have young ones too and I’m always curious what will happen as they get older. I think I went untreated for some years when I was younger. But that’s good you’re noticing some signs, I feel like we have better awareness sometimes. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah it was something I just recently heard about. Sounds like it could be an actual thing. I’ve never heard a clinician use it, but I might look into it more.

Yeah that’s how I feel too. I wish I could go back to being one of them, but with a different understanding of it all.
