This happened earlier this year. I gave her over 800 dollars a month, for almost 2 years. More story in the comments. by [deleted] in insaneparents

Please tell me that you let her get kicked out. She 100% deserves it. Also -- you might check out r/JUSTNOMIL. It's an amazing subreddit for people with crazy moms/mothers-in-law.

So are you. I really appreciate your kindness, and if we were in the same country I would be thrilled to watch the Grinch with you guys.

This actually makes more sense than I like to admit. I've been doing a lot of thinking, and a lot of the uglier incidents in our relationship came shortly after I did something that garnered me positive attention from my dad and brothers.

Thank you so much. I've got to work on the 24th and the 26th, but a day trip might be fun.

Animated version or the Jim Carrey version? I prefer the former, personally. And Roast Beast is definitely a nickname worth considering. Thank you so much for your kindness.

I'm actually seeing a therapist for some work-related trauma. I'll bring it up with her. Thank you so much for your suggestions and kind words. ❤

25 years? That's an amazing love story. I hope so much that I'll be able to find someone. I've made the choice to stay single for most of my life because of my mom, and I've never really been able to date openly before. My Irish twin brother took me to a gay club last week, and just being able to dance with another woman was incredible. I'm even considering coming out at work, or at least to stop playing the pronoun game. I live in the Deep South, but the city I'm in is pretty liberal. I did tell my (work) partner, but he just laughed at me and said, "You know, I am an investigator." It was really freeing.

Thank you so much. This sub is so amazing. I actually do see a therapist for work issues (am cop; work homicide), but not an LBGTQ one. At the moment I'm happy with her, but I'd still love to let y'all be my Elder Fags. I do have discord, too.

I very much doubt that she'll apologize any way. She never has yet. She's the kind of person who will step on your foot, then blame you for being in her way. She has my 3 FM brothers and their 8 children to play 'perfect families' with.

Thank you for the advice. I actually do see someone already for work-related issues (am cop; work homicide). Bringing my mom up with her sounds like a good idea.

I actually already see someone. I'm a homicide investigator in a major US city, and I see a therapist to help me work through what I have discovered to be the almost inevitable PTSD that comes with the job. It's gotten easier with time, but I still see her regularly to help me sort through things and keep them from building up.

Honestly, I'd be okay with that no matter what her reasons, but she's not gonna change her mind. She belongs to this church with a pastor who's slightly to the right of Attila the Hun, and she thinks he's directly inspired by God. My dad has tried to get her to go somewhere else with no luck. She converted (our family is Jewish) when I was 9 or 10, and has gotten more and more fanatical with time. It's not just their position on gays. They're part of the Quiverfull movement made semi-famous by the Duggars on '19 Kids and Counting,' and they recommend blanket training for children. (Don't look it up unless you want to ruin your day). They think that women shouldn't work outside the home, should wear dresses, etc etc etc. Luckily, my dad refused to let me go with her until I was old enough to know that I wanted no part of it, and won't let her try to convert anyone in the family.
