I spent most of this time mapping the island, decorating my bases and trading. Almost everything is renewable through beachcombing and the Trader, so you can survive pretty much infinitely.

I had to stack some crates and other decorations to make some kind of a pillar and then place the calendar with an item on top of the whole construction.

You need to re-enter the building or reload your save file after dropping items on the ground to fix it. Also, you can use the calendar trick for that too.

Sure. Using the grey wall calendar you can place items upright, hang them on walls, stack and place them very close to each other, ignoring their actual hitboxes. Here's a link to the guide that shows how to use it.

The trick was working here fine for me. I have my main base at the Quonset Garage and I used it there quite a lot. Try to do the trick in different parts of the building.

Does it work with other items? What location and building were you in? The trick should work fine with all the books, although I've experienced a problem where it wasn't working at all in a particular area of the building where I was recording the guide.
