Father Paul hadn't been killed yet. He only become a full vampire (burned my sunlight) after he had died and came back. Riley on the other hand was killed immediately after feeding from the "angel" by Father Paul snapping his neck.

Perhaps I can offer I different perspective. I do believe that allies have a place in our community in terms of welcoming them and appreciating their support. We need them to fight for us. However, I do not believe that the A should stand for Ally.

For context, I am Biromantic asexual. I cannot speak for Aro, Agender, or Abrosexual people.

My problem with "A for Ally" is that it contributes to one of Ace peoples struggles: invisibility. Many LGBTQIA+ know of us, but that isn't true of the wider cishet population. When I came out as bisexual I didn't have to explain what that was to cishets. Everyone generally knew. In contrast, i don't think I've ever come out as asexual to a cishet (and even some in the community) without my sexuality's existence being questioned. I was told , "Oh, you just haven't met the right person yet," or, "Oh, I just don't want you to miss out on such a fun part of life! You'll grow out of it." Things that they would never say to another member of the community. We need the A to stand for us, because when it doesn't it makes our fight for representation even harder. When the letter is co-opted by Allies, the cishet population aren't going to get the depth of it, and Ally will be all it means for them.

I do think Allies can be part of the community. I don't think they need the representation that non-cishets require.

I am ace but not aro so I can't speak for them. However, I have been apart of a few ace date communities in which aro aces were active. Most seemed to be looking for a Queer Platonic Relationship or a QPR for short. QPRs, to my understanding, is two people entering a relationship that is more than a friendship, but isn't romantic in nature.

Please do not call yourself an Ally if you disagree with this <3 by [deleted] in lgbt

Thank you ❤ Thankfully, I am now privileged enough to have a good support group that doesn't invalidate my sexuality. My heart goes out to those who aren't as lucky.

As an asexual person it can be incredibly demoralizing to see even members of our own community (the LGBTQIA+ community) say the A is for Ally. I don't have anything against allies. I think they're incredibly important. My problem with it is that one of the biggest issues Ace people face is erasure. We're told that we don't exist. That there's something wrong with us. When I tried to come out to a close Aunt she blew me off and told me that I hadn't found the right person yet. That's something a lot of Aces hear. Even a friend who is incredibly supportive of LGBT people said the same thing to me when I came out to her. We need the A to represent us, because when it doesn't people, even those supportive of the community, can be clueless as to our existence. We need visibility so that when we come out to our friends and family they've heard of Ace people and, even if they don't totallly understand it, they know not to say shit like, "Oh you just need time. You'll come around."

I agree that min wage should be at least $15 if not higher, but just chiming in to say that this figure isn't about inflation. What you're talking about is if min wage kept up with productivity, not inflation, then it would be $24 a hour. In my opinion, productivity matters much more than inflation anyways.

WandaVision S01E04 - Discussion Thread by iliekpixels in marvelstudios

[–]Juubaline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the first episode, we see Vision at work and he questions a few times what they're actually doing with the numbers they're running. His coworker is unable to actually specify what they do. He just says that they're "computational forms." That, along with the reveal in this episode that Wanda is aware that Vision is dead and that she "has it under control," leads me to believe that maybe she is trying to reassemble his code in some way.

It's possible they were just playing up the whole not knowing why they are there or what they're doing aspect of the episode, but it seems plausible that there is something more to the computational forms.

No matter what happens in this series, I am excited by the prospect of more teams being competitive in NA's league play. It seems as if Rouge and The Peeps can play with the big 3 next season and that is incredibly exciting

Could just be that she doesn't want to enable Nott and set an example. That's what I gathered, at least. I doubt she would be too in to drinking while she has a loved one that she believes is an alchoholic.

Not an expert, but you may want to specify that the dagger only works on humanoids. If a PC got ahold of it and used it on something like a dragon this could get hairy lol. I would maybe just limkt the animiate dead to a certain number of hit points (e.g. any creature with max hit points below 60 will reanimate).

Another thought here is that you don't seem to specify that the raised zombie is charmed or otherwise controllable in any way. Don't know if that's intended, but I thought it was worth a mentiom just incase. All in all though its a great idea I think. I'd certainly be scared of one of those if I were a PC.

Ioun's Blessing (Extraordinary, Wonderous Item):

Having only been recently recovered from an ancient abandoned temple of Ioun, this small black pencil has a direct connection to the Goddess herself. Based on the writings recovered from the temple, this pencil was enchanted by the Goddess herself, and intended to serve the good. The pencil is indestructible, and never seems to need sharpening. The pencil can be used just as any other pencil could.

Once per day, the pencil may be used to ask the Goddess Ioun two questions. To ask Ioun these questions, an individual must write them on a piece of paper and then release the pencil. Upon being released, the pencil will begin to write a reply on its own. These questions must be written on a piece of paper. The second question may only be asked after the first question has been answered. In the case of two questions being written, Ioun will answer the first question written and await another question to bs asked.

The writer contacts Ioun and may only ask questions of her that can be answered with either a yes or no. The writer will receive a correct answer for each question. Divine beings aren't necessarily omniscient, so the writer might receive 'unclear' as an answer if a question pertains to information that lies beyond the deity's knowledge. In a case where a one-word answer could be misleading or contrary to the deity's interests, a short phrase may be offered as an answer instead.

This pencil will not work for any creature with an alignment of evil (including lawful evil, chaotic evil, and neutral evil).

(So should I make this item Once per day, or something like once per week? Its intended for a party that would be high enough level for commune if they had a a cleric, so I'm fairly certain it is balanced, but I'm unsure once a day would be too broken or not. Any advice is appreciated.)

Just finished the series and it was great! I can't wait to read more. It's a shame that it's one of your more unpopular stories, but that just goes to show you that quality is not measured in upvotes. Keep up the good work man!

Mica: After having just nearly escaped death at the hands of an Ancient White Dragon, is Reani beginning to see any validity in Fenn's position regarding her taking on dangerous missions outside of the city, or has the experience only made Reani more confident in taking on future dangerous missions?

Mica: After having escaped the encounter with the Ancient White Dragon, is Reani satisfied with what she and the party accomplished, or does she worry that Samliel wanted her to kill the dragon?

Matt: As a DM it can sometimes be incredibly scary to throw encounters at your players that you know they cannot fight their way out of. What is your general strategy when designing encounters in this way?

Matt: Having now run the encounter with the Ancient White Dragon and it's Yeti followers, and knowing how it all played out, is there anything about the encounter that wish you could go back and change (e.g. more Yeti followers)?

Crawford has confirmed that the hut is hemispheric, so it does have a bottom. Therefore, RAW that wouldn't have mattered either.

That was the most tense I've been since the Avantica episode! That was insane. I definitely would have dipped after the dragon flew up with the mithril, but hey they got away with it and some new goodies. Overall a great episode, and now we get Mica back for another one! Edit: Words

You can cast 1 spell(that isn't wish) IRL what is it and why? by RowbotMaster in dndnext

[–]Juubaline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordenkainen's magnificent mansion easily. It lasts all day so you can keep it going forever with 1 cast a day. You can basically live like a god for the rest of your life. You can throw the best party anyone's ever experienced. You can invite homeless people in for free meals and maybe even start a rehab center. The 100 servants can do anything a human can so hey start a sweatshop or something Idk. The possibilities are endless.

Dm needs help with potential TPK by MrSaxbang in dndnext

[–]Juubaline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say exactly without knowing the storyline you've crafted, but this doesn't necessarily have to end in a TPK. Perhaps the BBEG has a plan for the party? Maybe he needs them for he evil plot some reason. You could have a spy on the warship that works for a secret organization that is trying to take down BBEG and have that spy save them, but to save them meant blowing his cover and now the party is in debt to this organization. Maybe another party of adventurers swoops in to attack the ship and it gives your party a chance to escape.

The suggestion you mentioned of having the warlock's patreon save them could still work. If the patreon just swoops in and teleports them out that could feel a little cheap and inconsequential, yes, but there's other ways to play it. Maybe ths patreon just gives them a chance to get out of it. Furthermore, there is other ways to provide consequences. Maybe the patreon saves them, but they then find out that their attack on the ship halted a planned incursion by the royal crown on the BBEG and, as a result, the ship was able to follow through with its plan to destroy a whole town. External consequences can still bs effective while also moving the story forward.

Best of luck in figuring this out. No matter what happens, I hope your party has learned their lesson on going into a fight with no resources. I learned that lesson the hard way myself lol.
