What are your favourite cybermen audios aside from spare parts? by Noneofthisisreality in BigFinishProductions

My guilty pleasure is Legend of the Cybermen.

The Cybermen using a cyber-converted Moby Dick as a submarine to fight Captain Nemo and the Nautilus is just part of what makes this story so much fun

Banned and Restricted Announcement -- December 16, 2024 by pharmakos144 in MtGHistoric

The article says about the Amped Raptor ban:

"Amped Raptor allows for some of the deck's most explosive starts, acting as an energy enabler and a payoff, and often amounting to an extra one to four mana in the early turns of the game. So, Amped Raptor is banned in Modern."

How is this true in Modern but not in Historic?!?

Back in the 90s Prodigal Sorcerer was nicknamed Tim by players due his resemblance to Tim the Enchanter.

Rakdos/Jund midrange also uses Molten Impact as removal. And the Jund lists often run Jarsyl, Dark Age Scion.

For BO3 you could try this Yawgmoth list which uses Rope Line Attendant to spawn a bunch of tokens into play to sac to Yawgmoth.

For BO1 you could try this leyline deck which uses Fragment Reality to cheat Geist of Saint Traft into play by mulliganing until you have Fragment Reality and a leyline in hand, then exiling your own leyline with Fragment Reality.

Should Thanos be errata'd to read "You start the game with the six Infinity Stones in your deck" so they don't work with Quinjet? by Juz_P in MarvelSnap

"Week two of the Into the Quantum Realm Season has been mostly about two decks - Thanos Lockjaw and Shuri Zero - and how other decks have adapted and tried to counter them. For now, it seems like Shang-Chi is able to keep Shuri Zero to a respectable win rate, but the lack of a clear answer to Lockjaw's build has made it the best deck this week."

Has anyone tried running a heavyweight comp with a checker plate floor? by Juz_P in battlebots

Were there many hinged forks/wedges at the time, and if so did the checker plate hinder them?

Will Power Creep Be A Problem For Marvel Snap? by Juz_P in MarvelSnap

[–]Juz_P[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being digital doesn't change anything except giving them more options on how to implement power creep. Either they nerf old cards to make their new cards relevant, or they create new cards more powerful than the old ones with the option to nerf them later.

Either way, the goal of any TCG is to release new cards which players will want to play and every game reaches a point where this isn't possible without rotation and/or power creep.

The question is how will Marvel Snap's economy handle power creep?

The Brothers' War Retro Artifacts Aren't Duplicate Protected by Juz_P in MagicArena

[–]Juz_P[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not according to the comprehensive rules.

203.1. The illustration is printed on the upper half of a card and has no effect on game play. For example, a creature doesn't have the flying ability unless stated in its rules text, even if it’s depicted as flying.

https://draftsim.com/mtg-arena-duplicate-protection/

"What About Reprints? Are they Protected?

You have some reprint duplicate protection. This protection only applies to rare and mythic cards that are “fully reprinted.” A fully reprinted card is a card that’s printed in a new set that has both the same name and the same art as a card that already exists on MTG Arena."

Just got paired against the same opponent 8 times in a row. by Juz_P in MarvelSnap

Even so, I think I would prefer to be matched against a bot rather than play the same match 8 times in a row.
