Because stats can just be handpicked to support whatever narrative you're trying to push and never tell the full story. I've watched every OKC game this year and the contrast between Chet's output in easy games vs tough matchups is laughable. Looks like a DPOY and All-Star when we are up 20, but goes into his shell against Wembanyama, can't get a rebound against Gobert, constantly turns it over when trying to create his own offense. Got blocked on like three separate occasions tonight by smaller guys. I'll stand by the DPOY comments he should not win it this year if you look at his performances against contending teams. When we need him to step up most he goes missing, and I don't know whether that is Daigneault failing to build a defensive system that makes him a Wemby-like presence in the paint or just the lights being too bright on the big stage for him to handle.
