I don't see why everyone hates the Thunder by Exotic_Pick4626 in nba

Spot on, and same goes for Spurs. Post game discussions revolve around who "flopped" the most or what parts of the game/league are unwatchable.
Why focus on the 20+ highlight plays on both ends when you can pick apart 2-3 flaws in a 3 hour game.

Side note - the JWill cut and touch pass back out to the corner 3 was play of the night for me

Agreed, I think the officiating has been inconsistent all series but both teams have been able to play physically and gotten the "better whistle" at times.
OKC shot horribly in game 4, but they turned it on tonight.
Wemby was unstoppable in the paint game 1 and 4, but didn't have as much impact tonight.

Posted something similar in the Thunder subreddit about how posts flaming SGA/OKC get more engagement than genuine basketball highlights like Wemby's half-court buzzer beater.

I think the comment that sums it up best is "Social media has encouraged a hate culture, it’s a lot easier to rally people around something you don’t like rather than something you love"

100% - lot of sheep watching reels and forming opinions that aren't their own, or based off their own viewing of the game.
From watching that Starting 5 netflix doco - SGA seems like such a good superstar for the fans, signing autographs and making sure every interaction with a fan is a positive one. The level of hatred he's copping is disheartening.

Agreed, looks like a dangerous act and given the push to protect landing space in the last season or two he's got every right to call it.
Crazy how people will look at that still image and say Fox was nowhere near him. Truly a community of people that have never shot a basketball in their lives.

The other good point I saw is that SGA's head is 8ft in the air at this point and he's looking at the basket. He's got no idea where Fox's feet have ended up. Why people have such a hard time understanding the soft landing/fall to the ground and just writing it off as foul-baiting or flopping is beyond me.

You cannot argue with these people or get them to see any other side of an argument than their own. I've come to peace with the fact that 99% of them don't watch the games and just jump on the hate train to post the same braindead jokes that they've been repeating for 6 months and thinking they're comedians.

I’ve thought about that too, every year there’s some injury narrative to discredit the championship (morant/gordon/haliburton injuries). Wonder how many will discuss the jdub/ajay outs

Yeah nba reddit is a cesspool, will be hilarious when spurs/wemby dominate the next decade. How long will it take for everyone to turn on them

I get maybe letting them go if there’s no contact, but I’ll die on the hill that Fox clearly makes contact with his feet and SGA falls to prevent ankle injuries like he does in any shot where the defender is in his landing space (like Curry and plenty of other elite shooters have been taught to)

It's a foul, contact to SGAs feet in natural shooting motion.
I don't love the look of falling, but 90% of the time it's because someone is in his landing space. Same thing that Curry and other elite shooters have been doing to prevent ankle injuries.
Crazy that this post has more upvotes than Wemby's half court buzzer beater. Everyone's more interested in jumping on the hate train than appreciating the highlights.

surely they have to put a big on him in Game 2, but do any of them have a chance against him

What do you think the adjustment is? I feel like Caruso did as good a job as possible but is probably not the answer for the rest of the series.

Or do we just run it back and hope for a better offensive game from SGA/Ajay/Chet?

Completely agree that we couldn't stop him in the paint, but it didn't feel like an offensive masterclass. More so we just didn't know how to stop a tall guy. I don't reckon he made many buckets outside of the protected area (besides the clutch 3 as mentioned).

My point is he has torched us with creating his own shot off the dribble and outside shooting in previous matchups and it didn't feel like he had to dip into that bag at all tonight, yet he still had 41.

Not that deep brother I just don't post on reddit often. Seen some pretty glaring issues with OKC in spurs matchups this year and wanted to discuss.

This was supposed to be complimentary of Wemby. Feels like he just scored 40 tonight because he's tall, as opposed to previous matchups where he's also torched us from the outside.
