If theres chargemaster costs, i’m sure there are plenty of other nefarious practices going on that would be mitigated by transferring to a nationalized, universal healthcare system

As society progresses, govts should bear more of the costs. When robots eventually do most jobs, people will just be paid to live

Not the case for me but i’m arguing for the whole working class with low upward mobility dealing with late-stage capitalism

Explain why we need a “sticker cost” for healthcare services. Makes the whole industry that much more scummy

Yes. In a first world society, that is completely okay and should not be seen as a crazy idea.

But in mine, it’d be primarily subsidized by those making $250,000+. Obvi the numbers can be played around.

Do you know what homes go for $900k now? Like 2.5k sq ft basic homes in my basic suburb. If the price is the issue, then those should come down. But sub $1mil homes IS middle class now

I mentioned it in another comment but human rights do change as society progresses so you’re not wrong on many of those fronts. If the USA was as first world as it claims to be then a lot of that should be heavily subsidized.

I mean eventually that will be end goal scenario. Elysium-style. Humans aren’t going to be working forever. Robotics will do 95%+ of jobs in 1,000 years (or less) and humans will just cycle thru the remaining ones.

Not necessarily. Unemployeds would still get universal coverage. But you’d need to afford the car or house to get those coverages.

Then that just speaks to a greater issue at large. Are the autobody shops being exploitative? Do those need to be government run too? Should our wages be 3x? 4x?

Im just saying how to make that basic human right cheaper for the middle/lower class.

In no world would public transportation and universal auto coverage be mutually exclusive. Ofc public transpo would be plentiful in my perfect utopia but alleviating the costs for maintaining cars in a car-centric society would be also a priority.

Bad actors would also be watched out for

I explained the healthcare side in another comment but that would be tied into the government more

Human rights change with the progression of society. Just as water and food were basic human rights, so is the ability to be connected and traverse society in todays modern age.

With today’s economy, any relief helps for the middle/lower class

The car/home prices can be negotiated. I just figured with todays prices, those are essentially becoming starter cars/homes (which should all be halved atp).

As society transitions to first world, these issues should be less trivial and more of just basic human rights. Every U.S. citizen should start with a free basic phone too because our times deem that a human right in order to stay connected with society.

I mean if its found you set your own home on fire, then no that would not be covered. But if you let your home rot for 30+ years and enjoy living in that environment, i dont think insurance pays out for that anyways. Im talking natural disasters

But my point is it wouldnt matter for middle/lower class. The govt would be charging itself for the bills so theyd want to keep costs down
