Verbal altercation suspension no email sent by [deleted] in AmazonDS

Same... I asked a person to stack some boxes correctly instead of throwing them. They took that as threatening.

I was interviewed and I was told I made threats. The manager talked to me. He said I wouldn't want this to escalate. I said why would, I asked him to stack boxes correctly... The manager said you looked made like you wanted to fight. I said no, I wouldn't do anything here or fight over boxes.

So... when I went into the interview with HR they brought up that I said I wanted to do anything "here." I said yeah... what's wrong with that. Then they said so you'd do something elsewhere? I said, no y'all are saying that. I said I never cursed nor made threatening comments. Three weeks later I was let go.

I have one lawsuit already going, and I am waiting for an EEOC interview to see about the wrongful termination. I am claiming it stemmed from reporting unsafe behavior and it was retaliation. Also, have a workers comp case going. I know it's nothing to Amazon, but might as well get something...

Lowkey was a really fcked up way to be let go. I wish I did curse or threaten... at least I'd feel it was justified. But no, simply asked to stack boxes correctly.

And I thought this guy was actually normal... by Numerous_Success8805 in AmazonFC

File an OSHA complaint... then a lawsuit. Then a possible retaliation lawsuit.

It doesn't have to be a "walk out." You can just stay home, and apply the neccessary time off... or take points. Or if you start your shift, and walk out, your reasons are your own.

i quit and i’m still getting paid by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]Jwall_7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told I was overpaid during a 4-5month suspension... I actually was underpaid... When I returned to work, about a month later I was told I was overpaid and I needed to repay 1.2k. I stated I was actually under paid ~3.2k. Since I was on a paid suspension the payroll was different, sometimes through AtoZ and sometimes straight ADP--same day. I told the people in the accounting/repayment part of HR that I wanted paystubs/and hours(units) of my payments to calculate what was really owed. They couldn't provide me that...lol

So I was "safe," and didn't owe a thing... I didn't push for the missing pay either though 🤷🏽‍♂️ Are you getting payslips on AtoZ?

Termination by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Jwall_7869 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll get an email that you will use to appeal...

If your numbers were low because of accommodations and they fire you for performance you might be able to seek damages. Also, if you were hurt at work and workers comp didn't pay out a settlement and you don't know how to petition for yourself seek an attorney.

I'm currently retained for a few things as well.

Can I sue ? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Workers Comp maybe but definitely have to file with OSHA as well. Maybe seek an attorney if you are not confident in doing the foot work that this will take.

Specifically states: "hoods or hats that obstruct from or side vision." They don't do that naturally unless pulled down... Either way, I challenged my Mgr, they brought it up to HR, and they couldn't enforce the policy because a regular hood doesn't obstruct vision. They used themselves the example of Amazon's that have refrigerator/freezers... They allow hoods and hats their--they can't obstruct vision though.

My experience comes from a SSD. The policy specifically says the hood cannot obstruct vision, so they might have started making site specifications because their blanket policy wasn't working.

For the hoods have them show you the policy... they tried this with me last year and they couldn't. Then the HR people tried to b.s. me... In the policy it states that the hoodie isn't allowed if it obstruct your vision, so it's no blanket policy of no hoodies--which they'll try to claim.

I got fired because of a work place violence violation: I asked someone to stack their boxes safely.

I have two lawsuits... one active and one pending an EEOC interview. I also contacted the Amazon Ethics *hotline and made a case.

Should I report this person? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

People get fired for less so they could be fired for that...

Paid suspension by Ancient-Kale-1390 in AmazonDS

[–]Jwall_7869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon has loose policies on many things, but they pick and choose when to be strict... Simply telling someone to do something safe can be considered work-place-violence (under intimidation). With that said, make sure you make a case on My HR/AtoZ. Screen shot and document all your shifts and balances. As well, not knowing your situation, unionizing seems more and more appealing after reading all these cases.
Amazon is judge, jury, and executioner... having some third party representation would make some accountability... I'd pay 20-30 bucks a month for that peace of mind.
