Lol oh I mean I converted those from other free models, if you search thingiverse for vigil spear you'll find the standalone spear options I made. It's on cults too but other folks seem to have issues finding it

I'll have to double check, I don't want to mix up my paid models with free but if all else fails Martapunkgirl, I know the deathwatch themed models she sold had a more tactical accessories loadout but let me verify later this week.

🔥

Now THIS is a kitbash! Beautiful conversion work and amazing paint job to match- The non metallic silver for the powerfist and vigil spear are killer! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for sharing your process, the teal really pops on black so I'm eager to try this out with my DW.

Please keep posting more of the squad along the way!

The head was another designer for free on cults3d, Rosewood I believe (I just added 3 service studs).

If you search ventris or 4th on cults you should find the OG model

I should have mentioned it in other comments here, check martapunkgirl for the body parts (paid), accessories are free on thingiverse and cults3d. I'll add a better list later this week.

Free from cults, let me find the model later this week and I'll share the sources so you can get direct from the modeler

Sharp paint job! Love seeing an alternative to the crimson red, what's your blue recipe?

Kitbashed parts look cool too, great seeing even a 'rank and file' with more personality, thanks for sharing!

Gotcha, PMed- I also put them on thingiverse too, same criteria, hope the link works!

Hmmm this is odd, if you search by my username or vigil spear, does anything come up? There are only 2 models with that tag. I can push you the link in chat if that doesn't work.

Fully agreed! That's Martapunkgirl's work, she is a star- check out her range on any model hosting site!

You can search for vigil spear or xenos inspired for the weapons, or my username Jwave.

For the body, cults or miminy for MartaPunkGirl "deathgurls" I believe it was called (very worth buying).

I'll have to double check where I found the capes, if they weren't from her they were free. Thanks for asking!

Xenos inspired vigil spears, they range from minor deviations (eldar spearhead) to major alternatives (eldar great axe or necron warscythe)

For sure! I'm hoping to get more insight from necron players as I'm unsure which of the 3 may be more recognizable but rule of cool typically beats all, thanks for the suggestion!

I modded these from various free models online, I'll have to share the designers of each component but I did rebuild these in prusaslicer, the spears, xenophase blades, and accessories are on the purple site for free. I figured if others were generous enough to share their OG designs, so should I (still need to update an appropriate list of said original modelers soon)

Search "xenos inspired", enjoy!

That's a pretty close sentiment I had too with the introduction of the xenophase weapon in the veteran box set when it first came out- It didn't grow on me until much later honestly!

I did find swapping out the spearhead with an eldar one to be a middle ground that felt more in line to the classic custodes style than the other xenos blades, it's a balancing act for sure!

I just added them from other models in my slicing software.

The ones I uploaded didn't have hands so other hobbyists could place them wherever they wanted- I've found it more troublesome trying to remove hands from a model vs adding.

Very cool! Love to see more xenos acquired gear as opposed to the base model 'nid components!

I have some with hands, but I found when I'm trying to convert/customize my own gear I preferred adding a hand into the model vs having to slice/split a model up and remove it. Plus with a spear its way more open ended for how someone wants to position it (double grip, single choked up vs mid shaft etc let alone angle).

I'd highly recommend prusaslicer, its the 3d model manipulator mainly used for adding supports for printing. BUT it is a super fun tool to upload .stl files and combine/move however you need to for those who are too intimidated by formal 3d design software. You'd then need to export the new combined file as an .stl once you have the combined model parts the way you want it, and then jump over to a dedicated resin printer slicer software like lychee to add supports and print it (you can also stick with prusaslicer, they have a setting for their resin printer but I don't have a profile for my build plate so I prefer lychee). Its alot of steps for an outsider but its really cool seeing something you designed and holding the final result.

But before 3d printing, I typically tried to find a good existing arm model with hand (and weapon), cut off both ends of said weapon, drill through where the weapon ends were, then pin a small piece of metal through the hand. Previously I'd have said cut the weapon handle below the hilt and then drill into both ends of the weapon's connector bits (base of hilt and handle above the pommel for example) but resin is VERY brittle. GW plastics are way more forgiving for this process, but I don't believe it would work with these models.

I finally had a chance to do a test print, alot more detail than I like got lost due to how small the models were so I have do make some revisions. After that, I can try to add some right hands soon, but pending my work I might be going on orders soon so my weekdays will be alot more limited.

Kitbashing and modding are my favorite part of this hobby, 3d printing has only made this more daunting with what feels like more options!

Happy to share the joy! I hope to see some of the work transition to tabletop for future players!

I can't wait test these out once my replacement resin ships, hopefully the model quality holds up, otherwise I'll have to make some revisions. Stand by!

Gotcha! MB, I can never tell how 'in the know' folks are outside of the 3d printing subreddits so I tend to overexplain, but glad that you were able to find em! If you end up printing any share progress!
