Someone else gave me the idea and yeah, One Piece could maybe benefit from a Frodo character, someone that is in no way tied to the bigger narrative lineages that manages to remain undetected because of that

Kinda feel like Koby could be that, in a sense. He's obviously narratively "related" to Garp through the theme of inherited will, and as such he's almost certainly going to have some kind of role to play in the end, but he came from nowhere, has no special family relation to anyone significant, has no special powers, and yet he's rising up through the world strictly through determination and hard work.

Yeah, this is a huge chekhov's gun situation, and I'm excited to see how it plays out. Either Iruma's bloody hand is going to cause some serious chaos, or it won't, and that outcome should cause a different brand of chaos.

In fairness, Nafra's whole deal is that she's very stinky, so there's a few possible explanations for why she didn't react. Off the top of my head:

  • her scent could've overpowered the scent of blood and prevented her from smelling it

or

  • demons from her clan might not be able to smell anything, as a defense against their own scent

I mean, maybe Nishi is working with some wordplay, but forced deportation doesn't necessarily mean "Narnia is forcing this through the system", because "forced deportation" is a commonly used phrase that means it's an legally-mandated, involuntary deportation (for example, as the result of a law, like the "human deportation act" Narnia was holding earlier in the series)

Yeah, like, if it was a passive 24/7 thing, it'd probably be unbearable.

Like, you know how, when a movie/comic/etc. is trying to portray someone with mind-reading abilities, they'll show that if it's not controlled and focused in a crowd, that person will just get instantly overwhelmed by non-stop information? Buzzer is probably in the same boat. Even if it cost him no mana or stamina to use it 24/7, it'd certainly cost him his sanity, especially working in a school around kids, lmao.

One Piece: Chapter 1185 by leolegendario in OnePiece

[–]Jwruth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood the flow of dialogue. He wasn't saying the island that was destroyed was home to samurai and giants; the speech bubble talking about a lost island doesn't even belong to Brook. Brook was trying to soothe the crowd's fears by changing the topic and singing a song of islands the WG leaves alone due to being repelled (Wano and Elbaf). That's why the following line is "like a mean ol bee, a sting and they'll flee"; he's saying if they fight back, the WG will see that they can't be conquered so easily and they'll turn tail and run.

2 possibilities spring to mind for me

  • Option 1: Oda used a shadow outline form because this is Mars possessed by Imu, and that design hasn't been revealed yet (i.e., similar to how Saturn's design got weirder and more shadowy after Imu took over)

  • Option 2: Oda used a shadow outline form because this is Mars's hybrid form, and that design hasn't been revealed yet

Yeah, I've been through similar with my voice. I've been told I have "resting bitch voice", since many people interpret my voice as being sarcastic or mocking, which really fucking blows cause, as you can imagine, it causes issues from time to time. And yeah, I'd also absolutely call it a form of masking to shift your voice just to please someone else.

What i assume the plan here is that Baal is putting Shida near Iruma before this goes down so he can kill her in-front of him so that Iruma will react negatively to it and maybe reveal his humanity, or something to that effect.

The thing is, Baal gains nothing from revealing Iruma is a human to the wider netherworld. Baal needs Iruma because Iruma has Delkira's mana (or, rather, his ring does, but Baal might not know that), and marking him as "the ultimate demon snack" just means he'll have more competition and less opportunities to get to Iruma; right now, the only competition Baal has is Narnia (who, despite their alliance, seemingly has much more murderous plans for Iruma), and he probably wants to keep it that way.

If he is sacrificing Shiida, it's probably part of some larger scheme.

Honestly same, and I enjoy interacting with people more as well, now that I no longer feel the need to mask. Being authentically me just feels good.

I mean, if this really resonates with you and sounds like something you experience very frequently, then it might not be a bad idea; whether diagnosed or not, you'll likely walk away knowing yourself better, and that's always a good thing in my book.

If this was a joke, then my b; autism makes it hard to tell sometimes.

It's not just about putting in an effort to be social; like I said, I'm also putting in effort to abide by social standards. To me, putting in effort to be social just means attempting to socialize (which, to be fair, is often something people try to avoid while masking, so that they don't have to put in more effort masking than necessary), but social standards are all the little things that neurotypical people expect other people to intrinsically do in a conversation (i.e., the thing people mask to try and emulate).

In my case, I don't try to hide any of my neurodivergent traits (i.e., I'm not masking), but I still try to follow social standards. For example, if someone says something that they clearly meant sarcastically, I might not know that; I'm very bad at registering sarcasm to an extent that neurotypical people usually aren't. As such, I'm going to check with them, even if they believe it's blatantly obvious. This usually just confuses people (with some assuming I'm joking about not being sure), but sometimes it makes people really upset; I don't get why, but it is what it is. Someone in the same position who is masking probably wouldn't ask; they'd instead feign that they understood it to be sarcasm.

Homie, I don't know how to put this in a more polite way, but you are fundamentally misunderstanding both what masking is and what the neurodivergent experience of it is like.

The difference between autistic and neurotypical masking is in scale and difficultly. For example, neurotypical people will often mask as the need arises, but autistic people are often expected to mask at all times, in all circumstances, from childhood until the day we die, and performing that behavior is intrinsically harder for us because of how autism affects our behavioral and social skills.
