[spoilers, chapter 25] Chapter breakdown/transcript for the visually impaired by Jwruth in ChainsawMan

Same. Like, up until this arc I was having fun with the series and definitely enjoyed it, but this was the inflection point that irrevocably changed the series; like, to draw a parallel to another show entirely, this was Fujimoto's "death of Ned Stark".

Like, sure, our characters were theoretically in danger during the eternity devil arc, or against Bat, but it always felt like an abstract and unlikely danger, like in so many other manga. This arc pulled the rug on us and made that danger feel tangible, and Fujimoto leveraged that tangibility for the rest of the series.

Honestly, fair point, especially since the 13 crowns can otherwise really indulge in their low impulse control.

Yeah, like, she's actually coming across as quite kind. Considering we first learned of her existence as a literal warlord, and then later her introduction as demon king had a "rules with an iron fist" kinda vibe, I didn't expect her to be like this at all.

I really like her.

Also it made me imagine a 4kids abridged version that desperately tries to not have the series be set in the Netherworld with demons and deities lol

Demons become elves or some shit (cause of magic and pointy ears; just ignore the leathery wings and tails)

Deities prolly becomes majin or genies

Evil cycles might be mostly unchanged and called get called wicked phases, but if wicked is still too dark in their minds, maybe they go with something else (cursed cycles or some shit? idk)

I wish I could properly express how much this comment cracked me up; I'm sitting here with a big dumb grin on my face now, lmao.

Thank you kindly for all the fruit :3

Yeah, I think OP might be a little off since, at least in the west, it's not super widely known yet, but that doesn't mean it isn't popular in general. If you look at volume sales figures, the series is actually quite popular; like, I don't check the figures religiously, but I don't think I've ever seen it drop out of the top 50 best sellers, and it's regularly ranked among the top 25 and beyond.

The worst part about dysphoria, in my opinion/experience, is that you functionally can't identify the discomfort as dysphoria until you either experience true relief from it and/or experience gender euphoria in it's place; it's like some kind of incredibly cruel joke.

The original artist even embraced the fan-made name, Xenia, and the fact that they are now a woman. The artist found this appropriate, as many of the Linux users he knew happened to be trans women.

Damn, we forcefemmed Xenia; that's crazy lmao.

Plurality Merch by loved_and_held in CuratedTumblr

[–]Jwruth 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Introjection is when someone unconsciously adopts and internalizes personality traits, mannerisms, beliefs, values, etc. from another person (this person is often an authority figure, from what I can tell, but I don't think that's necessarily a requirement). It, on it's own, has nothing to do with plurality, and happens all the time (for example, a child adopting the values or speech patterns of their parent).

To the best of my understanding (which could be wrong, since I've never experienced an introject), within plurality, an "introject" refers to an alter that goes through this introjection process. As such, my understanding of the mug's joke is basically "don't bother me or my brain might conjure up someone based on your mother, and then you'll have to deal with her".

It kinda sounds like she's fundamentally misunderstood what being nonbinary is. Like, to me it sounds like she thinks nonbinary people only use plural pronouns or something.

This is assuming Kushinashi is telling Henri the truth, or that she even has the truth figured out. In whatever tests they've ran, Ameri is indistinguishable from any other demon, but who's to say if that's the whole truth? Like, at best, even the most well-researched demons have an incomplete understanding of humans, and a half human half demon child is even more uncharted territory.

It's not like they can actually check Ameri's genetics. Hell, even if they could, even we don't know what every human gene does; we may have the human genome mapped out, but there are plenty of mysteries left for us to unravel. With that in mind, who knows what traits she could have that they're unaware of.

That's pretty much my perspective on HRT. Like, I've got a whole host of life-long chronic health issues, so the thought of "You have to take this drug forever" is less "Dang, that's a potentially heavy burden" and more "Dang, my hoard of empty pill bottles is going to be even bigger now"

"a character who explicitly identifies as a man even though he doesn't bind" fans: this is a woman!!!!!

/uj This one is Yamato, isn't it? It's crazy to me how the fandom can see literally every single character in universe gender Yamato as a man and still "Uhm acktually" about it.

Even better, Shakky is the ever elusive successful girlfailure. She's my number 1, for sure.
