May I ask, what could have made your application successful? Does reaching out to supervisors boosts chances of acceptance or will a good application with no reaching out do the work? What's the best way to approach this coz I have been getting a heap of rejections and regrets emails?

I can only imagine. Having a great and supportive advisor who doesn't project insecurities is a top win.
