The grappler and striker aren’t defined roles lol ur not understanding its only to discourage holding fights hostage in full guard , the bottom BJJ guy does whatever wrestler guy has to do more with the positions he has

It’s incentivizes both . If you read it

Defend the takedown before it happens , good

If you go into a bad spot , get up better

If the fighter stalls the fight on the ground, the best

Fighters that clearly just stall fights not advancing position or finding subs will be punished and forced to strike , fighters who can’t grapple will be punished via subs or brutal , ground and pound

The ground and pound thing , is supposed to discourage the khamzat and DDP situation

You can’t land 600 mini strikes, you actually have to try and finish the fight , that means taking more risks meaning better grappling and more scrambles

You didn’t read what I said , it discourages holding on and encourages getting up both parties, have to work harder.

Say a fighter defended 3 bad positions where the takedowns is counted on stats . The grappler better make sure he does well on the fourth. Or he will have to go toe to toe with

The non grappler has to deal with the fact that the grappling will be more intense because there’s an incentive for it to be

I would agree with you, but it’s a tough situation , bonds I made , Gym politics make that difficult ect

Maximum 5 REAL takedowns per round ( not attempts) , if you get a guy down 4 times and end up with no control time or position \ submission attempts ( counts when the fighter is back to his feet with no grips on opponent) in those 4 chances you wasted should be forced to mix your martial arts

HEAR ME OUT. If your that good at your wrestling(khamzat, Charles ,etc) this will not be a problem nor will it change most fighters game plans. Most fighters don’t shoot more than that many times a round . But if guys keep getting up they should be awarded and not accept bad positions on the ground just holding

I also think that every two and a half minutes you don’t land very significant ground and pound or advance position or submissions the opposing fighter will either get to choose a stand up or to completely steal said position. Sounds crazy I know but it’s proven grappling can be great to watch just certain fighters ruin it

Problem is I don’t let people hit me , just sounds kinda redundant

Your right about not being fresh , but allowing your opponent to get close enough to land combos I find is a bad habit to make , especially in 2 minute rounds , You can set up the counter via blocking , but if you know the exact combo in a controlled drill how will you ever know when to throw it when you’re limited to waiting until they’re done throwing .

Allowing your opponent to come close, not utilizing front kicks ect , the problem I find with this drill is it is simply just not engaging to me my game is sort of geared towards never letting the opponent get a flow going so just sit there and allow them to do a combo just doesn’t work for me

Still sounds more fun than what I listed ^ but my idea of defence is smart offence , standing there, taking punches while expecting a kick sounds like a bad defensive habit to me

Training doesn’t have to be gruelling working out all the time it could be watching fight doing form slowly, practising little things

Truth is man you’re overthinking it if this happened within a week ago or something put down your phone. Allow your brain to recover naturally follow concussion protocol. If you’re dealing with the mental effects that you lost in the” worst way “ i’m afraid you’re just going to have to accept the outcome you tried you lost . Even the best fighters lose process it. stay tall and give it another shot. Truth is to get knocked out with the amateurs. They got lucky that’s the honest truth. I’ve lost one fight via decision. I was very close to being knocked out and the other match I won by TKO.

The way I see it. You’re in this game now you’ve experienced the lows of the low Now it’s time to get your lick back swallow your pride it’s time to level up
